The old monk was born in the yamen of Quanzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province on July 30th, 20th year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty. His father was an official in Quanzhou Prefecture. After he fell to the ground, he was a meatball. His mother was so scared that she thought there was no hope of having a son in the future and died in one breath. Everyone at home is very helpless, and I have asked many experienced old people, all of which are puzzling. Everyone thinks this freak is a bad omen. I was going to throw this meatball away the next day. Just then, an old man selling medicine came and broke the meat ball with a knife. He is a fat boy. When everyone is sad, they can't help but be overjoyed. They were brought up by their common mother Wang. However, their biological mother's life returned to her grave, and she could never come back. If Bodhisattva didn't incarnate as an old man selling medicine, what about the old monk who experienced the ups and downs of Kun today? This is the first difficulty of the old monk.

Two difficulties: hunger, cold and snow.

In the eighth year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (19 years old), the old monk fled home to Yongquan Temple in Gushan, Fuzhou, and often shaved the old man's head. The following year, according to the drum mountain Miaolian monk to give a ring. How time flies! The old monk gave up love and said goodbye. It was more than twenty years in a flash. I thought that the Taoist industry had made no achievements and drifted in the wind all day, so I sent five gifts to my parents in return for their kindness. In the eighth year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (43 years old), on the first day of July, he offered incense in Hokkeji, Putuo, Zhejiang, and made a three-step worship. At that time, there were four Zen monks, Quan Zhen, Qiu Ning, Shan Ya and Jue Cheng, who attached incense. After crossing the sea, there are not many trips every day, stopping at Huzhou, Suzhou, Changzhou and other places. The four of them turned back halfway, and the old monk went to New Year's greetings alone, to cross the river at the Rongzu Tower in Liniutou, Nanjing, and to the Lion Mountain Temple in Zhipukou. The following year, I started from Lion Mountain, entered Henan from northern Jiangsu, passed Fengyang, Haozhou, Ling Hao, Songshan and Shaolin Temple, and arrived at Baima Temple in Luoyang. I went for a night tour, and it was cloudy and rainy. If I do this, I will worship the name of the Bodhisattva, and I will be full of bitterness and hunger. I have not missed it.

12 months, crossing the Yellow River, crossing Wuling, living in the first day, crossing the river and berthing in the second day. It was too late and no one was there. There is only a hut with stalls on the roadside, and no one lives there. The old monk stopped at this point and sat cross-legged. At night, the snow is long and the cold is biting. The next morning, I looked up and it had become a glass world. The snow is several feet deep and there is nothing to do. There was no one in the past and I didn't know where to go.

There is no fence in the hut. At first, the old monk sat chanting, hungry and cold, and then curled up in a corner. The bigger the snow, the colder the weather, the hungrier the abdomen, and the dying, but the mindfulness never forgets. On the first day, the second day and the third day, if it snows, if it is cold, if it is hungry, it will gradually enter a coma. On the afternoon of the sixth day, the snow stopped. I saw a little shadow of the sun, but I couldn't get sick. On the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, a beggar saw an old monk lying sick in a snowdrift, unable to speak. Knowing that I was frostbitten, I pushed the snow away and cooked yellow rice porridge with grass in the shed. After the old monk ate it, the heater revived, otherwise he would freeze to death in the snow. This is the old monk's second difficulty.

Died of dysentery.

In the 10th year of Guangxu reign (Shen Jia was forty-five years old), on the second day of the first month, the old monk began to burn incense at Hongfu Temple and arrived at Huaiqing House. In the city of Xiaonanhai, he is not allowed to spend the night. He can only go out and spend the night on the roadside. It's just that abdominal pain is particularly severe at night. Continue to worship in the early morning of the fourth day, and there will be chills at night. On the fifth day of May, I have loose bowels, but I still have to pay homage every day. /kloc-arrived at Huangshaling on 0/3, and there was only a ruined temple on the top of the mountain without shelter. At this time, I couldn't walk, took a rest, didn't eat, and had diarrhea dozens of times day and night. I can't start, and there are no passers-by. I'm dying. On the fifteenth night, I saw someone lighting a fire under the Western Wall. At first, I suspected a gangster. When I looked carefully, it turned out to be Ji Man, and he was overjoyed. Mr. Hu Wen, Ji Man lit a fire and said to the old monk, "Master, why are you still here?" "The old monk told Moon Hee what had happened.

That night, Moon Hee sat beside the old monk and brought him a glass of water to eat. /kloc-On October 6th, Moon Hee changed the dirty clothes on the old monk and gave him a cup of medicine. /kloc-retired on 0/7, ate two bowls of yellow rice porridge, broke out in sweat, and was brisk inside and outside. 18, my condition eased a lot. The old monk thanked Moon Hee and said, "Thank you, Mr. Wang, for lifting the danger twice." "Moon Hee said," It's a small matter. Don't mention it! I see that you haven't been to many places since you went to Los Angeles. I don't know when you can go. You are in poor health and it is absolutely difficult to do it. You don't have to worship, and so does the ceremony. The old monk replied, "I can feel your kindness, but I was born without a mother." My mother died for me, and my father only gave me a son. I ran away behind my father's back My father resigned because of me, but it was short-lived and he was confused. It's been decades. I hereby make a wish to ask the Bodhisattva to add a quilt to the mountain. I hope my parents will get rid of their misery as soon as possible and have a pure land. Despite all the difficulties, I dare not give up my wish before I reach the holy land. 」

Moon Hee said, "It's rare that you are sincere and filial. I'm going back to Channel 5 today. There's nothing urgent. I am willing to help you with your luggage and travel with you. You only need to worship before, and you will be much more relaxed and more focused. " The old monk said, "If you can do this, your merits will be endless. When I visited Wutai Mountain, I returned half of this merit to my parents to prove Bodhi earlier. I'll give you half for your help, ok? Moon Hee said, "No, you are Xiao Si, and I am by the way. You don't have to thank me. " Moon Hee has been nursing for four days, and her illness has gone away. This is the second time that Manjusri Bodhisattva appeared to visit the old monk's heart and save him.

Four difficulties, blood flowing out of the mouth

On the 19th day of the first month of the 10th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty, the old monk began to burn incense in the ruined temple in Huangshaling, and all the food was borne by Moon Hee. The old monk wants to have a rest. Nothing is tired outside, and there is no delusion inside. He became ill day by day and his health improved day by day. From morning till night, he can worship 45 miles without feeling any pain. At the end of March, I went to Li Xiang Temple in Taigu County and met the guests. When the guest saw Moon Hee, he asked the old monk,' Who is this? The old monk told the truth. Zhike snapped,' Going out for a walk is out of fashion. In recent years, there has been a famine in the north. Which mountain are you going to? What big and old officials need to be served? If you want to have fun, why go out? "Have you seen the gates of some temples where laity hangs posters?" The old monk listened to his reprimand at the moment, but did not dare to echo it, so he had to admit his mistake and leave.

The guest said,' What a shame! Help yourself. Who told you to come? When the old monk heard something was wrong, he turned and said,' Mr. Wen, please stay in the inn. "What if I bother you here," the guest said, "It doesn't matter. Moon Hee said,' It's not far from Wutai Mountain. I'm going back first. Take your time. Your luggage will be sent to you on the mountain soon. Old monk can't stay. After Moon Hee went, the guests changed their faces, kindly sent bills, made tea on the hot pit of the stove, made their own noodles and accompanied them to eat. The old monk was surprised to see this behavior, and he didn't care about the people around him. He asked the guest, "How many people live here?" The guest replied:' I have been in Waijiang for many years and come back to be an abbot. I've been alone for years, and all my food is here.

Just now was a game, please don't take it amiss. At that time, the old monk was too sad to find anything. He barely ate half a bowl of noodles, and left to find Moon Hee in the hotel on the street. On April 18, the moon was bright as day, and the old monk wanted to catch up with Moon Hee, so he went to Taiyuan House to worship incense on a starry night, impatient. The next day, my brain was hot and my nostrils were bleeding. I went to Baiyun Temple in Huangtugou on the 20th. I saw the old monk bleeding, so I wouldn't hang up the bill. I hardly spent the night outside. I entered Taiyuan early in the morning and went to Gokurakuji. I was scolded, but I didn't hang up. I went out of town early in the morning to worship God. I met a young monk named Wen Xian outside the north gate. Seeing the old monk coming to meet me, I took my orange luggage and rested for ten days. I gradually recovered and continued to worship incense. This is the fourth difficulty of the old monk.

Five difficulties slip into the water

During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, monks aged 18 to 20 studied Confucian classics in Mao Peng, Cuifeng, Jiuhua Mountain. In the twenty-first year (at the age of fifty-six), the abbot of Gaomin Temple in Yangzhou went to Jiuhua, saying that Gaomin Temple had a gift from Zhu, and even played 12 or 17, hoping that the old monk would come. The old monk agreed, went down to Datong hillock and walked along the river. When the water rose, the boat charged six yuan. The old monk was penniless and the boat went straight away. The old monk had no choice but to travel again. Suddenly, he fell into the water and drifted to Shen Yi day and night. He was caught by fishermen and called a monk in Hoshakuji to claim it. Monks live in Chishan. When he saw the shock, he rushed into the temple to save the Soviet Union. That was June 28th. This is the fifth difficulty of the old monk.

Sudden six major diseases

In the 23rd year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (Ding You was 58 years old), he was seriously ill in November and could not worship Buddha, which became more and more serious. He can only lie down, he can't sit down, and taking medicine doesn't help. At that time, the public thought that he would not get well, so they moved him to Ruyiliao, where he was the first relative of Ashoka Temple, and Zong Liang was in charge. Together with Miss Lu and other parties, he saved him. It took a lot of money and energy, but his condition has not eased. The old monk thought that the fate of the world would run out and let it go, but he couldn't burn his fingers and anxiety. A few days later, eight people came to the hut and told them that 17 was the day of burning fingers. The old monk insisted on attending, but the first one disagreed, fearing for his life. The old monk didn't know his tears and said, "Who can live and who can die? I want to repay my mother's kindness and make a vow to burn my fingers. What's the good of living if I stop because of illness? Zong Liang was only 2 1 year old when he went to prison. When he heard the sad voice of the old monk, he felt the filial piety of the old monk. He couldn't help crying and said, "Don't worry, I will help you realize it. Tomorrow's Lent is my treat. Shall I arrange it for you first? " "The old monk thanked him.

/kloc-On the morning of 0/7, Zong Liang asked his younger brother Zong Xin to help the old monk burn his fingers. Several people took turns to help him to the main hall and worship Buddha. After various ceremonies, he read Confessions. The old monk devoted himself to Buddhism and surpassed his mother. At first, he felt pain, then his heart became clear, and finally his wisdom became clear. When I read "Amitabha is hidden in Buddhism", 84,000 pores stood up all over my body. At that time, his fingers were burnt out, and the old monk stood up and worshipped Buddha himself. He doesn't need anyone's help, and he doesn't know that he is ill. So he walked to admire the crowd and returned to Laos, and everyone was amazed.

Seven difficulties of cable breakage and water immersion

In the 28th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (63 years old), the old monk went to Mount Emei, climbed the Jinding and watched the Buddha's light, just like Jizu Mountain. Watching thousands of lanterns at night is tantamount to worshipping wisdom lanterns in Wutai Mountain. To Siwa Temple, Li Zhen should be an old monk. He is the head of the whole mountain and the master of the clan. At that time, he was over 70 years old and had a good time playing together for a few days. After going down the mountain, cross Liusha River along Xixiangchi Scenic Area, Da 'a Temple, Changzhuping, Pilu Hall, Emei County and Xiajiang County to Yincun. As the water level rose, the old monk waited until noon from morning. The old monk asked Master Chen Jie to board the boat first and gave him the luggage. The old monk was just about to get on the boat when the rope suddenly broke and the current was very urgent. The old monk climbed up the boat string with his right hand. There are many little people on board, and it will capsize slightly. The old monk dared not move. He came down from the stream and dipped in the water. At dusk, the boat was moored on the shore, and many people picked up the old monk. His clothes and trousers were soaked and his feet were cut by pebbles.

All cases were laparotomy.

In the 31st year of Guangxu reign, the old monk went to Yangon, visited the Shwedagon Pagoda, visited the holy land, and returned to China via Penang. When the ship arrived, there were passengers who died of epidemic diseases on board, so the flag was hung, which meant that all the people on board were not allowed to go ashore until they were inspected in the distant mountains. There are about 1000 passengers in the whole ship. After going up the mountain, they were exposed to the sun and rain all night. They distribute a small bowl of rice and two radishes every day and cook by themselves. The doctor came to see them twice a day, and after a week, half of them left. On the tenth day, they all left, leaving the old monk alone. At that time, the old monk was extremely anxious and his condition worsened, describing himself as miserable. He is gradually unable to enter the diet. On the eighteenth day, the doctor came and ordered him to move to a clean room. The old monk asked about his native place and knew that he was from Quanzhou.

He sighed and said, "This room is for dying patients. I thought it was for caesarean section. The old monk explained that he was going to Gokurakuji. The old man said, "I'll give you some medicine. Fried a bowl of Shenzhuo tea and ate it for two days. The old man added, "When the doctor comes, listen to my cough, get up and cheer up. The doctor will prescribe medicine for you, so don't take it. The doctor came, just like he said, forced to take medicine, boiled water, not eating. When the doctor left, the old man came to ask if he had taken any medicine, and the old monk told him truthfully. The old man was surprised and said, "It's so hard to live. There will be a caesarean section tomorrow. I will give you medicine, and I hope the Buddha will bless you. "The next morning, the old man came again and saw the old monk sitting on the ground, unable to see anyone with his eyes open. The old man picked him up and saw blood all over the floor. The old man took the medicine and was anxious to change clothes and wash the floor for the old monk.

With a sigh, he said, "Others ate yesterday's potion, but they had an operation before they died. You don't deserve to die. Buddha has spirit. At nine o'clock, the doctor will cut open your abdomen, and I will cough. You can pretend to be arrogant. At nine o'clock, the doctor came and saw the old monk pointing and laughing. The old man said, "He laughed that you didn't deserve to die. The old monk asked the old man to send some money to the doctor and let him go out. So I gave him 40 yuan to see a doctor and 20 yuan to the old man in Yangon, thanking him for his care. The old man said, "I don't want your money." Today's doctor is a man with red hair. We can't say that tomorrow is a cold person. We can talk. " It's getting late. For the elderly, he has agreed to send fans 24 yuan, which will be released tomorrow. The next morning, the doctor came. After reading it, he called a boat to cross the sea. The old man helped the old monk into the boat and hired a car to take him to Guangfu Palace. A disaster, just passed.

Jiu Nan is dead.

In the thirty-third year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (when he was less than 68 years old), he settled in Bangkok for nine days. After settling down, his feet were paralyzed, and at first his movements were hindered. Later, he was like a dead wood, and he couldn't even hold chopsticks. He had to eat and be fed. Buddhist practitioners employ Chinese and western medicine, but acupuncture and drugs are ineffective. He can't talk, but he can't see, and there's nothing the doctors can do. But the old monk is clean in body and mind and does not feel pain. Everything is put down except one thing. That is, the purchase of Tibetan scriptures and the construction of Jizushan temple pavilion on the seam of the collar are donated bills. No one knows: the old monk can't talk with his mouth or write with his hands. If he burned it when he was incarnated, how could cause and effect be negative? Deep tears, silently praying Ye Jia honour person went on to say. At that time, there was a great circus master living in Zhong Nanshan. He saw the old monk crying and his mouth twitched, so he approached to listen. The old monk asked Miao Yuan to fetch tea to pray for Ye Jia, and then he fell asleep.

I saw an old monk-like Ye Jia, sitting next to the old monk, rubbing his head with his hand. Said, "bhikkhu! Don't worry if you don't leave your body. Just use your cloak as a pillow. " Hearing this, the old monk took his cloak as a pillow. When he turned around, he was no longer honored. He was sweating all over, and now he can't say how happy he is. When the root of the tongue gradually turns round, please ask Miao Yuanshi to go to Huatuo to ask for a prescription, and only prescribe two kinds of wooden comb luminous sand. You can see and talk after taking it. On the other hand, just eat red beans, cook porridge with beans to supplement your diet, and don't eat sundries. After eating for two days, you can move your head a little and ask for red beans. From then on, I ate beans, urinated, and was as dirty as black paint. I gradually know that I can get up and walk. More than 20 days have passed since this disaster, in order to get out.

Ten difficulties in being beaten by bandits

At the age of 68, the old monk escaped the disaster until 195 1 year (the year of Geng Yin)11year, and the Buddhist temple was built safely. Unfortunately, in the spring of 1940, when Yunmen opened its port, more than 100 people suddenly came. Besides searching the whole temple, the old monk was locked in a room and was not allowed to go out, so Eden was gloomy day and night. It's like sitting in hell for three days. Ten big men came into the room and forced the old monk to hand over the gold and silver guns. The old monk said no, but he was still beaten, first with wooden sticks and then with iron bars, until his head was broken and his ribs were broken. He asked questions while playing. The old monk was sitting in meditation when Jin Mu handed it in and made a noise.

I was beaten four times a day and fell to the ground. Everyone thought the old monk was dead and roared away. Late at night, the waiter helped the old monk sit on the couch again. Another day, everyone heard that the old monk was not dead and went back to his room. Seeing the old monk sitting still, he was furious and dragged to the ground. He was beaten with a big stick, and more than a dozen people stepped on his shoes, bleeding from five orifices and lying on the ground. Thinking he was going to die, he roared away. The waiter hugged the old monk and sat down on the sofa. After five days, the old monk gradually lay down for good luck. After a day and a night, nothing happened. The waiter tried his nostrils with grass, but his temperature was still alive. After 24 hours, he began to have a slight * * *, helped him sit up, and the waiter told him to calm down and sleep. The old monk told the waiter to be distracted and listen to Buddhism. After these days, everyone saw that the old monk was acting strangely and became more and more suspicious, whispering. One of them seemed to be the leader and asked the monks around him, "Why can't you kill that old man?" The monk replied, "The old monk suffered for all beings and eliminated disasters for you. I can't die, I will know it after a long time. " Hearing this, the leader was very scared and never dared to poison the old monk again. This is the biggest disaster for the old monk in this period.
