Gulou Chinese Medicine Hospital affiliated to College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Beijing Union University was established in 195 1 year, and 198 1 year was designated as the teaching hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. 1993 was approved by the municipal government, the Ministry of Health and state administration of traditional chinese medicine to establish "medicine is widely used as the capital", 1996 was approved by Dongcheng District Health Bureau and Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine. It was officially renamed as "Gulou Chinese Medicine Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University" and was designated as the teaching hospital of Beijing Institute of Acupuncture and Orthopedics in the same year. 1997 was rated as a second-class Chinese medicine hospital. It is a comprehensive Chinese medicine hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care.
