1, definition
China Wushu is a sport gradually formed and developed by the Chinese nation in the long-term productive labor, struggle with nature and war in the era of cold weapons. It has the functions of keeping fit, strengthening the body, preventing the enemy and winning.
2. Origin
The origin of China Wushu can be traced back to primitive society. In primitive society, there were many animals and few people, and the natural environment was very bad. In the process of fighting against nature, people have produced primary means of attack and defense, such as punching and kicking, scratching and slapping, jumping and tumbling, and later learned to make and use stones or wooden tools as weapons, resulting in some unarmed and instrumental fighting skills.
From the existing archaeological discoveries, it can be seen that in the Paleolithic period, pointed stone tools, stone balls, stone hand axes and spears for processing bone horns have appeared. By the end of the Neolithic Age, there appeared a large number of stone axes, shovels, knives, harpoons and arrow chains made of bones, and even bronze axes. These primitive production tools and weapons later became the forerunners of martial arts instruments.
The development of Wushu in different dynasties;
1, Qin and Han Dynasties
In the rising period of feudal society in China, the development of politics, economy and culture created conditions for Wushu to gradually develop from a simple military skill to a competitive direction, and competitive events such as gladiator, unarmed combat and fencing flourished.
Martial arts used in offensive and defensive warfare and routines suitable for performance develop in parallel. There are 6 calligraphy and 38 kendo in the thirteen art books in Han Shu Literature and Art Annals.
2. During the Tang Dynasty
In the second year of Chang 'an in the Tang Dynasty (AD 702), the martial arts system was implemented. This method of selecting Wushu talents through examination has promoted the development of Wushu. Swordsmanship became an important weapon in the Tang Dynasty, and it gradually broke away from military practicality and developed in the folk.
Poets Li Bai and Li Fu both learned fencing when they were young. General Pei Min's swordsmanship is unparalleled in the world, and he is also called the three wonders of the Tang Dynasty with Li Bai's poems and songs and Zhang Xu's cursive script. It can be seen that Wushu, as a cultural form, was quite influential at that time.
