Three. Halaqin 'gou
The running water in the ditch is constant all the year round, originating from 2 kilometers southwest of Wopu Village, Beihuanghua, Wuchuan County, and Wuchuan is called Donghe. The river flows from north to south along Halaqin ditch, through Halaqin, Haoqinying, Ruyi and Cundong, and flows into the small river in the east of Taohaoban Village. The river outside the ditch is 58 kilometers long and is the main tributary of the river.
There have been many flash floods in Halaqin River in history. In the thirty-eighth year of Qianlong (1772), flash floods broke out, destroying part of the walls of Suiyuan City (now a new city). In the fourth year of the Republic of China (19 15), floods flooded the banks, inundating large areas of farmland and houses. After liberation, from 1953 to 1960, the levee along the river was built in stages with the historical maximum flood peak of 800 cubic meters per second as the coefficient. At 6 o'clock in the afternoon of July 1985, the Halaqin River overflowed the flood control levee with a huge flood peak of 1800 cubic meters per second. The cement factory in the suburbs was destroyed, and more than 80 houses in Halaqin, Shaliang, Nandian, Haoqinying and Yijia Village 180 collapsed, forming 752 dangerous houses, destroying fish ponds 168.4 mu, destroying dams by 577 meters, flooding farmland in a large area, and the affected area1460,000 mu. After the disaster, the flood control levee was raised again, effectively controlling the flood. In 2002, Halaqin Reservoir was built in the upper reaches of Maoduqin. There are a lot of blue schists in the ditch. There are gold mines and abundant marble mines, which are the raw material bases of Hohhot cement plant and lime plant. There are scenic spots such as Dieshui Waterfall and Laoye Temple.
