Skateboarding is a popular traditional national sport among ethnic minorities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In 2007, at the 8th National Minority Traditional Sports Meeting, the board shoe racing was listed as an official event for the first time.
Flat racing is conducted on the standard track and field, with a line width of 5 cm and a lane width of 2.44 m to 2.50 m. The racing shoes are made of wood, with a length of 100 cm, a width of 9 cm and a thickness of 3 cm. Each shoe is equipped with three foot pads with a width of 5 cm, which are fixed at the specified distance of the shoe.
Board shoe racing consists of three athletes putting their feet together on the same pair of board shoes and competing on the track and field. The ranking of the results is determined by the time spent running the same distance. There are 60m, 100m and 2x 100 mixed relays in this project.
