Novices suggest that it is better to buy a whole car. Around 2000 mountain bikes are Giant ATX730, ATX750, ATX770, Duke Merida 300, Duke Merida 500 and Duke Merida 600.

This is a post I wrote on a bicycle website. You can have a look.

This article refers to buying a hard-tailed XC cross-country mountain bike, which is the kind of mountain bike that most people ride now.

Simply talk about the choice of frame size: generally, it is important to choose a frame according to the height and choose a frame that suits you! Otherwise, it is too big to ride, which is tiring and dangerous, and too small to ride.

Frame and height reference data: 15 inch-155-16514 inch-162.

17 inch-165-17516 inch-162- 172

19 inch-175-18518 inch-172- 182

2 1 inch-185- 195 20 inch-182- 192

According to my riding experience, the frame is getting smaller and bigger. The above data are for reference only. There are still some differences in actual riding, such as 17 inch-165- 175. In fact, the height of 165 is a little reluctant to ride, and the frame of 17 inch is 170-

In addition, because everyone's body proportion is different, the length of the long arm of the leg is also different. I will teach you the simplest and practical measurement method: put on shoes, stand on the tube on the frame with your feet shoulder width, and the distance between the crotch and the tube on the frame should be about 5-6 cm; If the upper tube is close to or next to the crotch, the skeleton is large; If the upper tube is too far away from the crotch, the frame is small. Cyclists who like cross-country should choose smaller ones, and the distance from the crotch to the upper tube of the frame should be about 6- 10 cm. This has good operability and high safety. Because cross-country is more dangerous, the frame should be smaller. This is all my riding experience. As for the CC value, CT value and TT value, I won't say it. Too complicated, hehe!

As for how much to buy a car, it depends on your budget. Buy good ones if you have money, and buy cheap ones if you don't have money. I don't think it is necessary for beginners to buy a good car. 1000 -3000 is enough, but the degree of fever is another matter. If you often climb mountains, buy a front fork that can be locked, so that the front fork will not exert force until the climbing is locked. If you want to buy a car to travel, don't buy a car with a disc brake. It is most suitable to buy a V-brake car, because the V-brake is durable and easy to repair when it breaks down. Disc brakes are very troublesome to maintain. If it breaks down, it will be very troublesome and not suitable for travel.

About bicycle brands: domestic brands: Merida, UCC and Giant are all good choices. Foreign brands: Trick and Lightning, the top brands in the world, have excellent performance, but they are more expensive. Novices suggest buying a whole vehicle, and then consider DIY when riding experience is rich. In addition, it is not recommended to buy a car online, because there are many fakes and swindlers now, and the car may be damaged during transportation, which means that there is no after-sales service and you can't test drive. It is recommended to buy in a specialty store.

About frames: Frames are divided into steel frames, aluminum frames, titanium frames and carbon fiber frames. At present, most mountain bikes are made of aluminum frame, which is light in weight but poor in shock absorption. Steel frame is the heaviest and has good shock absorption, but it is easy to rust. Titanium frame is expensive, light in weight and good in shock absorption. Carbon fiber frame is expensive, lightest in weight and very good in shock absorption, but its strength is poor and it is easy to break.

About the handle: the handle is also called the faucet. Because everyone's arm length is different, they may need different lengths of handles, so it is also important to choose the appropriate length of handles. (Some riders have sore arms when riding, which is actually caused by improper handlebar length. )

About the cushion: Be sure to buy a good cushion! Otherwise, riding a butt hurts and PP suffers! 100 or more silicone cushions or softer cushions are good choices. If you travel, you'd better buy a wide and soft cushion. Recommended brands: WTB and Lewei

About Hub Hub Hub: Hub and hub are very important parts, try to buy high quality. It is more reassuring to buy big brands, such as Simano and Jiuyu. If you plan to upgrade the disc brake in the future, choose the disc brake flower drum to avoid spending money on the flower drum in the future.

About tires: tires are divided into mountain tires, all-terrain tires, bald tires and semi-bald tires, and tires have the greatest influence on riding speed. General mountain bike tires have thick teeth, high riding resistance and slow speed, and are suitable for cross-country. All-terrain tires have dense teeth and low resistance, and can adapt to all kinds of roads. Bald tires have smooth tread and small resistance, which is suitable for riding on flat roads and not for cross-country. Semi-bald tires have smooth tread in the middle, non-slip teeth on both sides (there are also different treads), low resistance on flat roads, and are not easy to slip on sandy and watery roads, which is suitable for bicycle trips and outings. Mountain bike tires are generally 26 inches, and the specifications are: 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.75, 1.95, 2. 1 and so on. The smaller the tire, the less resistance.

On rim spokes: high-quality rim spokes can avoid or reduce rim deformation and spoke fracture. Double rim and stainless steel spokes are good choices.

About the front fork: the front fork is divided into spring fork, oil spring fork and air fork. It is recommended to use the oil spring fork, which is durable and sensitive to shock absorption. The spring fork is low-grade, without damping, and its shock absorption performance is average. The gas fork is expensive, unused and inconvenient to evaluate.

About the speed change system: Try to buy speed change systems with different speeds. It is easier to find a suitable transmission ratio according to road conditions and physical strength. Simano M430 is a good entry-level choice, 27-speed, and the price is not expensive; Get on the 30 th speed if you have food! Generally, the middle plate is used for riding, the small plate is used for climbing and the big plate is used for racing. Long-term use of large boards is harmful to knees, so it is better to use them less. Recommended brands: Shimano Ximano and SRAM Express.

About the braking system: AVID's SD series V has good braking performance and is very suitable for entry-level riders. Personally, I think it is best to have only BB5 and BB7 mechanical disc brakes. In fact, mechanical disc brakes are chicken ribs, and old bird riders know that. If you want to buy it, just buy a hydraulic disc brake. This is the real disc brake. Some cheap disc brakes are not as good as V brakes, and the feel is too bad! Recommended brands: Shimano, AVID

About pedals: It's best to buy bearing pedals. Walking pedals are easy to make abnormal noises because of lack of oil, which is very annoying. Recommended brand: Vig

About road vehicles: the average speed of road vehicles with bent handles 14-20. It is more laborious to climb with less speed and more teeth, and bending over to ride also makes many people stay away from it. Drivers who like the speed of road cars and are comfortable to ride can choose 24-27 flat-handled road cars, and climbing with small teeth is easier, which is very good! In addition, the frame size of a road bike is different from that of a mountain bike, so pay attention! Don't buy anything too big or too small.

About riding safety: helmets must be bought! This is necessary, especially when going mountain climbing or cross-country. Also buy a pair of riding glasses to prevent sandstorms and mosquitoes from flying into your eyes. Also buy a pair of gloves, which can prevent slipping and protect your palms when you fall. There must be front and rear lights when riding at night, especially on roads without street lights, otherwise it is very unsafe. Don't go downhill too fast! Try to keep it below 30 per hour, which is safer. In recent years, many riders died unexpectedly, most of which were tragedies caused by too fast speed when going downhill. Safety awareness is necessary to avoid accidents.

Sometimes I see some riders' cushions adjusted very high, and their legs are straight when they step on the bottom. This is not right! The correct height of the cushion is: when stepping on the bottom, the legs are slightly bent and straight, indicating that the cushion is too high. If the cushion is too high, it will hurt your knees and it is not safe.

Because my level is limited, if I make a mistake, experts are welcome to point it out so that I can correct it.
