This is Alcatraz Prison. In 1930s, Acatez Island was specially used by the US federal government to hold prisoners because of its special geographical environment. It is said that many prisoners tried to escape from prison at that time, but because the extremely cold sea water around them was either caught back or died of illness, Native Americans thought Alcatraz was a cursed "Alcatraz Island".
When the prison was first put into use, the staff adopted a policy of silence. Prisoners are not allowed to talk to prisoners next door, even if they line up or gather in the hall. This spiritual loneliness has pushed some prisoners to the brink of despair, and this punishment is simply a hell on earth!
Alcatraz Prison has always maintained the highest level of security: it locks the door at about 6 o'clock every night, and it is completely sealed off until breakfast starts at 7 o'clock the next morning. There is no night show, no gymnasium, no library and nothing in Alcatraz Prison. If anyone dares to break the rules, they will be punished and sent to Alcatraz's most terrible D area, which they call a "hole in the ground". "Alcatraz" is scary enough, and there is something even scarier.
There are six dark cells on the ground floor of Alcatraz Prison, which are only 2. 1 m wide, all made of steel structure, including floor and steel plate. There is a hole in the corner of the cell as a toilet and the door is a fence. When the staff closed the door and then closed the outside door, the cell was dark and opaque.
What can you do once you are locked up here? Some prisoners have nothing to do. Before they go crazy, they can only carve words on the wall, including initials, birthdays and detention days. Now, when you travel to Alcatraz, you can see these nicks, which have been idle for a long time. Through these signs of despair, maybe you will love your present life very much.
However, in such a heavily guarded place, three people managed to escape from prison. They are felons Frank Morris, John Anglin and Clarence Nm. It took the three men a long time to finalize the most complicated escape in history. In this operation, three people dug holes in the ground with iron spoons and forks collected during dinner, and made three "fake heads" with toilet paper, soap, paint and hair and put them on the bed to deceive the prison guards. After everything was ready, the three men escaped from this heavily guarded prison on the evening of June 1962+0 1 and went to sea on a self-made bamboo raft.
There was no news of the three men as soon as they escaped from prison, although some people speculated that they might have drowned in the sea. However, since their bodies have never been found, their life and death are still a mystery.
