How to take a good portrait of the scenery during the trip?
Then how can we make the beautiful scenery in front of us into a shocking blockbuster effect? Let's teach you a few tips today!

1. How to use the perspective characteristics of wide-angle lens?

17mm focal length shooting

Wide-angle lens has a perspective relationship between the near and the far, so when shooting this promising scenery scene, we can make good use of this perspective relationship as far as possible, and make the lens as close as possible to the foreground object. By controlling this distortion, the picture will appear more tense. At the same time, the wide-angle lens has a wider field of vision and can shoot as many details of the sky as possible.

50 mm focal length shooting

In exactly the same scene, the picture I shot with a focal length of 50mm was completely defeated compared with the angle of view of 17mm above, and the picture had no impact and was too mediocre, so I don't have to worry about the distortion caused by wide-angle lenses or ultra-wide-angle lenses. As long as I learn to use the characteristics of these lenses, I can shoot better pictures.

70 mm focal length shooting

Sometimes in order to ensure the neatness of the picture and keep the horizontal and vertical lines stable, we have to shoot with medium and long focal lengths. For example, the above picture was shot with a focal length of 70 mm, and we can see that although the picture is relatively neat, it also lacks some impact and shocking effects. What effect will it bring if it is changed to a super wide angle of 17mm at the same position?

17mm focal length shooting

Under the super wide-angle perspective, the whole picture immediately widens, more tracks and parts of the sky are photographed, and everyone can obviously feel the visual contrast of the picture, which is the charm of super wide-angle.

17mm focal length shooting

Canon EF 17-40mm F4L USM lens is very cost-effective, allowing you to feel the quality performance of Canon red circle lens with the least money. I have used this lens for many years, and the proofs above are basically taken by this lens.

If you are a micro-single user of EOS R or RP, you can also choose a brand-new RF super wide-angle lens:

Canon RF 15-35mm F2.8L ISUM has higher lens quality performance. The large aperture of F2.8 allows you to shoot portraits and other subjects, and it is also one of the necessary lenses for RF bayonet.

2. How does the bright sun make the light softer?

I believe everyone has had such an experience. Looking at the blue sky, white clouds and clear sky in Wan Li, Wan Li, the beauty of cattle and sheep is low, but after the camera is photographed, it is still the virtue above, or the sky is normally exposed to the ground silhouette, or just like the picture below:

The ground exposure is normal, but the sky is almost white, so how to solve this problem? Two methods, if the skilled students can use the periodic synthesis method of peripheral exposure in the later stage, if they can't synthesize it in the later stage, then solve this problem in the early stage of shooting, and a simple GND gray gradient filter will do:

The characteristics of this GND filter are semitransparent and half dimming, and there are two kinds of hard transition and soft transition in the middle. We just need to put this filter in front of the lens and let the overexposed part of the sky enjoy the dimming service, so that the normal light ratio between heaven and earth can be presented.

By slightly reducing the exposure to the sky, you can see the effect of clear ground and blue sky and white clouds. Here is a set of comparison pictures, you can have a look.

From left to right are pictures taken normally, pictures taken with GND filter, and pictures after simple color matching.

3. Learn to shoot slowly and truly become a landscape master.

What's the use of slow doors? After reading the comparison chart above, you will understand that the slow shutter can make the picture show a special effect that is invisible to the naked eye. It is this intangible effect that will attract the audience and make people who look at the pictures deeply attracted.

The most common effect of slow shutter is to make the water surface look calm as a mirror, so that the clouds in the sky can flow. Of course, the premise is that there are clouds in the sky you shoot, and the stronger the wind, the more obvious the effect of cloud flow.

Aperture F8, shutter speed1125 seconds, sensitivity 100.

For example, this picture was taken with ordinary parameters, with ripples on the water surface and white clouds floating in the sky, but if we learn to shoot with a slow door, we can get the following effects:

How should the parameters of this slow door work be set? First of all, we should set the shutter speed to 30 seconds, because the slowest shutter speed for M-file shooting is 30 seconds (not to mention B-door), then we will use ISO 100 to determine the sensitivity, and finally we can determine the aperture according to the brightness of your picture. The aperture is recommended to be at least F 16, and the minimum aperture such as F22 can be used if necessary. Although the picture quality is lost, it can make your picture as good as possible.

However, when it comes to underexposure, the first of the two necessary accessories for slow shooting is this ND dimming filter, because if you don't wear this small sunglasses to change the lens, let alone slow shooting for 30 seconds, even if it is 5 seconds, it is estimated that it will be overexposed to pure white. Minimalist works? So you can take a 30-second slow shot with this nd-reducing mirror. If it is in broad daylight, it is recommended to use filters such as ND 1000 or ND2000. In addition, a necessary accessory of the slow door is a tripod. After all, 30 seconds is definitely not enough. Put the camera on a tripod to ensure the clarity of the picture.

4. Kill two birds with one stone stack solution

If you want to play to the extreme, then you must understand the stack method. In this way, we can shoot the slow door effect without the ND filter, and it is even more shocking than the 30-second slow door, because a film like the above picture can basically be understood as a super slow door with an exposure time of about 10 -20 minutes, and the photo shutter speed of 10 minutes is not needed.

Simply put, the superposition method is to shoot several works with normal exposure and then synthesize them into a single work at a later stage. The superposition method can not only achieve the super slow door effect of a single sheet, but also obtain a video material of time-lapse photography, killing two birds with one stone. Do you want to learn stacking through practical teaching? In the course, we have prepared a complete practical teaching video for everyone, which is more intuitive than our explanation in words!

First of all, the scenes that will appear during the journey.

Travel will experience many scenes, such as Yuanmingyuan, parks and other attractions, or university campuses, or art areas, or even hotel rooms. I recommend two shooting locations, one is a scenic spot or park, and the other is a university in various places.

Second, use the scene to shoot

In many scenic spots, you may encounter a scene of reeds. This scene is very good, but remember to shoot it on the side near the shore, or you will get into the water.

Of course, you can also get close to reeds and take reeds as the foreground.

You can also focus on the reed, so that although you can't see the subject's face clearly, it will become a little artistic.

In addition to reeds, there are many other scenes, such as boats that can make use of scenic spots, renting or just looking for broken boats that can't be launched.

Let the subject shoot on the boat with the boat as a prop.

Because the environmental elements of the background are far away, you can get a good blurred background effect by relying on the large aperture of F 1.8.

In addition to the above attractions, there are many common scenes, such as the common wooden bridge in the park, which is very suitable for taking pictures.

But pay attention to the direction of light, the light coming from the side and back will form a beautiful hair light, which is easy to produce.

Of course, many parks also have beautiful trees, such as cherry trees or peach trees.

You can shoot with branches as the foreground. Of course, it doesn't matter if it is a tree with green leaves. You can change the color of the leaves later.

Third, use the focal length of the lens to shoot.

Taking photos during the trip can be combined with the scenery to take photos of people, which is more suitable for telephoto shooting. Take wide-angle shooting as an example here, and you will get the following results. People's photos are too small to look good.

However, if you shoot with telephoto, the space compression of telephoto will make the characters and background much more harmonious, which is very suitable for this kind of landscape portrait.

So it is very suitable to shoot with telephoto in this scene with background elements.

The famous Canon White Rabbit was used in this shooting.

In addition to taking photos with telephoto compression, you can also take photos with wide-angle perspective effect.

For example, in this scene, people's feet can be placed on the edge of the picture in a wide angle to create a feeling of long legs.

You can also use the perspective of wide-angle lens to create creative headshots.

For wide-angle lenses, I recommend two models. One is canon's 16-35F2.8 third generation.

The other is the wide-angle lens with the highest cost performance, Canon's 16-35F4.

Of course, you can also use the blur of the large aperture of the lens to shoot, such as the following scene.

The flowers on the hillside are sparse, but the model can be kept at a certain distance from the flowers before taking pictures.

Because of the blurring effect of increasing the distance, the flowers in the background can appear thicker.

In this scene, the large aperture lens of Canon 50F 1.8 is recommended. This lens is cheap, with large aperture and good imaging quality.

If you want better picture quality, I recommend the 50F 1.2 of Canon R bayonet, which is really the best 50 I have ever seen.

First, how to take a portrait of humanity during the trip

You can take more pictures of local customs during your trip. Not every photo needs to be big, but it must be recorded so that you can feel full of memories when you look back at the photo one day. So what are the shooting points of local customs? First, you can shoot some scenes and scenery.

You can also shoot some other people's works, because the protagonist will be more natural at this time and it is not easy to notice you.

You can also take some photos mainly in form, such as people running between two trees, forming a frame composition, and the form is greater than the content.
