"oasis of the seas" was ordered by Royal Caribbean Cruises and built by ST X Shipbuilding Company, a shipbuilding giant headquartered in Oslo. It is the largest cruise ship in the world at present, with a length of 1 180 feet (about 360 meters) and a width of 154 feet (about 47 meters), which is 2 13 feet higher than the waterline. The whole ship * * * has 16 decks, and each deck has cabins, with as many as 2,700 guest rooms.
Oasis of the seas took six years to build and cost more than 800 million pounds. It can carry 6360 passengers and 2 160 passengers. Judging from these data, "oasis of the seas" has set a number of cruise industry records. Visitors lucky enough to set foot on this "sea giant" will be in a brand-new entertainment world, and perhaps the most striking of them is the amphitheater and rock climbing area called "water theater". The "Water Theater" serves as a swimming pool during the day and becomes a gorgeous performance stage at night.
The cruise ship "Oasis at Sea" has seven themes of "community": central park, pedestrian street, Broadway, swimming center, marine health and fitness center, recreation center and youth activity center. Each "community" contains unusual elements, such as the first sea park, a downhill device running through the 9th floor, a hand-made merry-go-round, and 28 multi-layer boxes with French windows.
