Wetland attracts a large number of tourists with its rich and beautiful natural scenery and traditional lifestyle, and has become one of the main places for people to travel and relax. Yeyahu Wetland is located at the junction of Yanqing Town, Kangzhuang Town, Zhangshanying Town and Yanqing Farm in the northwest of Yanqing County, Beijing. It has many wetland types, such as reservoirs, rivers, swamps, seasonal flood areas and so on. It is the largest wetland ecosystem in Beijing, with important ecological function benefits and protection value.
Park planning is divided into wetland protection area, restoration and reconstruction area, publicity and exhibition area, rational use of leisure area and management service area. The park is rich in animal and plant resources and unique in wetland landscape, which is an ideal place for people to understand wetlands and return to nature.
Yeya Lake is a natural-artificial composite wetland composed of Yanqing District of Guanting Reservoir, submerged area below 479 meters above sea level around the lake and beaches. After more than 50 years of development, a wetland ecosystem with abundant animal and plant resources, high biodiversity and strong stability has been formed.
In 2000, the Beijing Municipal People's Government approved Yanqing Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve to be upgraded to a municipal nature reserve. The reserve covers a total area of 6,873 hectares, including 3,939 hectares of wetlands. It is the largest wetland nature reserve in Beijing and the only wetland bird nature reserve. There are 264 species of birds, 6 species of national first-class protected animals (black stork, oriental white stork, white-headed crane, great bustard, golden eagle and white-tailed sea eagle) and 34 species of national second-class protected animals.
There are 420 species of higher plants, 40 species of fish, 5 species of amphibians, 0/0 species of mammals, 0/82 species of insects and so on. Visitors can watch swans, wild ducks, black storks and other national first-and second-class protected birds. Visitors can listen to all kinds of birds humming, which makes people linger.
