Hunan Sports Vocational College was approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. In May, 2002, Hunan Sports School (founded in 1958) and Hunan Staff Sports Technical College (founded in 1984) merged to form a full-time public general higher vocational college. It is the only full-time general higher vocational college in Hunan Province and passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education in 2007.
