Why Hubei Jianli? There are several main reasons:
1. Battle of Red Cliffs. Zhou Yuchuan's Three Kingdoms: Liu Bei was destroyed by Cao Gong and wanted to lead him across the river and meet Lu Su in Dangyang, so he made a plan. Because he moved to Xiakou, Zhuge Liang was sent to exercise his power, and the power was sent to others to unite against Tsao Gong and meet the enemy at Chibi. At that time, Cao's army was terminally ill, and on the first day of the war, the public army retreated, leading to Jiangbei. Yu and others are on the south bank.
After being defeated by Cao Cao in Changbanpo, Liu Bei fled to Xiakou to take refuge in Liu Qi. Xiakou belonged to Jiangxia County at that time, which is now Hankou District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Then Liu Bei sent Zhuge Liang to Wu Dong, and the two sides formed an alliance. Sun Quan sent Zhou Yu and Cheng Pu to lead 30,000 troops to unite with Liu Bei. Zhou Yu, Cheng Pu and Liu Bei set out from the gorge and marched westward along the Yangtze River with a great army. Cao Cao set out from Jiangling (now Jingzhou, Hubei Province) and advanced eastward along the river.
The two sides met at Chibi and fought a battle. Cao Cao was defeated and retreated to the north bank of the Yangtze River, known as Wulin, and Zhou Yu led his troops south, known as Chibi, which is today's chibi city, Hubei Province.
The first one to be excluded is Huarong County, Hunan Province, which belongs to Yueyang City and is located on the south bank of the Yangtze River. There are no places called Chibi and Wulin.
The second excluded area is Huarong District of Ezhou City. Although it is also called Chibi and Wulin, its geographical location is too far away. Ezhou was called Wuchang during the Three Kingdoms period. In today's east of Wuhan, if Cao Cao hits Ezhou, it is equivalent to occupying more than half of Jiangxia County (Wuhan). But Battle of Red Cliffs was the first battle between Cao Cao and Zhou Yu. Cao occupied most of Jiangxia county without fighting. This is impossible, so Cao can't help it.
Chibi is in the southwest of Wuhan. Cao Cao came from Jiangling City (now Jingzhou, Hubei), the south county, and passed Chibi City first. Cao Cao did not reach Jiangxia County, and Chibi belonged to Nanjun, at the junction of Nanjun and Jiangxia County at that time.
Second, Cao Cao fled on the north bank of the Yangtze River, and his destination was Jiangling City, Nanjun County. It is clearly recorded in the Three Kingdoms that Cao Cao is in the north of the Yangtze River and Zhou Yu is in the south of it. Even if Cao Cao defeated Chibi, he fled from Jiangbei. Moreover, Cao Cao had no water army at this time and fled by land. Cao Cao's ships were burned by Zhou Yu and Liu Bei. From the map, Huarong County in Hunan Province was the first to be ruled out, because it was south of the Yangtze River, and Cao Cao could not escape to the south of the Yangtze River, so he had to flee to the north.
Huarong District of Ezhou City is located in the east of Jiangxia County. If Cao Cao escapes from here, it is hard to escape. At that time, Wuhan was densely covered with water networks and criss-crossed rivers, where the Hanshui River and the Yangtze River met, and there were many lakes in the territory, which was not conducive to land escape. Besides, if Cao Cao really hit Ezhou Huarong, where did Liu Qi and Liu Bei go? Who owns the whole Jiangxia County? It's hard to explain.
The only possibility is that Huarong Road is today's Jianli Huarong. Jianli Huarong is close to Jiangling (Jingzhou) guarded by Cao Ren, and also on the north bank of the Yangtze River. It is the only way from Chibi to Jiangling, so it can only be Jianli Huarong in Hubei.
Third, judging from the Historical Map of China written by historian and geographer Tan Qixiang, it is also a good example. On the historical map of historian and geographer Tan Qixiang, chibi city in Hubei Province is called Puyin, Puyin is on the south bank of the Yangtze River and Wulin is on the north bank, but it is reasonable to put Chibi between Puyin and Xiakou, because they are all in the southwest of Wuhan.
Huarong Road in Ezhou is in the east of Wuhan, with a different direction. Cao Cao Can can't run in the opposite direction, so Huarong Road in Ezhou is excluded, while Huarong County in Hunan is on the south bank of the Yangtze River, which is also excluded from the map, so it can only be Jianli Huarong.
At present, most historians believe that Battle of Red Cliffs was a war in chibi city, Hubei Province, which is often called Wu Chibi, while the Chibi inscribed by Su Shi is Wen Chibi, which is a misunderstanding of Chibi by Su Shi himself. But because of Su Shi's behavior, only one monument was kept. The real Red Cliff is Puyin, which is today's chibi city, Hubei Province.
