In Florida, Michael continues his JIU jitsu tour at Marcelo Ribeiro's gym. This relationship didn't last long, because Ribeiro soon moved to Texas. Subsequently, Musumec's coach Emile "Shark" Bassad joined the American national team. At school in Bussard, Michael got a green belt and a blue belt.
During Michael's stay at Emile Bussard College, the Mendes brothers attended several seminars, so the lasting relationship between Michael and the formidable brothers began. Musumech has been in contact with Raphael and Guilherme, attending seminars, taking private classes and visiting their gyms.
As time went on, Michael's family moved farther south, and Michael joined Harvey Byron's gym in Miami WMB. Byron won the second Junior Blue Ribbon World Championship and awarded the purple ribbon to Musumec.
After Michael's family moved back to Boca Raton, Florida, Mickey reconnected with Wellington coach Bussard and Jonas gugel of Aventura. He also started teaching with his sister Tammy Musumedge at the Jaco Training Center, where they met Gilbert Burns and they became training partners and mentors.
During the busy training schedule, Michael Musumeci also kept in regular contact with the Mendes brothers and visited their artistic jujitsu training center. After Mickey won the purple ribbon world championship with 14, standing on the podium was Guilherme Mendes, who presented Mickey with a brown belt.
After winning the Brown Belt World Championship, Mikey Musumeci also increased the number of trips to AJ Sousa Gym. The following year, after another impressive victory in the 20 15 World Championship, Musumec won the black belt with the joint efforts of Jonatas Gougeul and Gilbert Burns. He 18 years old.
