So is there a way to learn Tai Ji Chuan quickly? The answer is yes. Why would I say that? This is my conclusion based on many years' experience in practicing Tai Ji Chuan and my research on Tai Ji Chuan Theory. But I must declare that the shortcut I am talking about is relative to the traditional learning method. Practitioners must master Tai Ji Chuan's skills through their own efforts. The following is an analysis to illustrate my point of view.
First, teach conservatism.
In the past, martial arts in China were generally kept secret, and teachers would not teach people easily, and Tai Ji Chuan was no exception. Even if the master is willing to teach you, he is very conservative, teaching bit by bit, and finally the master has to save one hand. Few people can learn it all, and few people can get the true biography of the master. Only the apprentices carefully selected by the master can inherit the mantle of the master. This teaching method not only increases the learning difficulty, but also prolongs or wastes the learning time.
Second, the teaching method is unscientific.
At present, most of the methods used by Taiji Chuan professors are to learn routines first, then to find the strength, then to learn pushing hands, and finally to learn Sanshou. In fact, it is still a traditional teaching method. This method is flowing, starting from the basics, from shallow to deep, step by step training, kung fu step by step, really solid. This method is often that the apprentice is very good at watching the master's kung fu, and he has always admired the master, but he always can't catch up with it, and there is a feeling that the master can't surpass it. If you want to walk around in front of the master, you have to wait several years.
Why is there a saying of three-year wrestling? Because there is no routine in wrestling, you can learn all kinds of wrestling methods directly. One person can practice carrying sandbags, and two people can practice directly. You can master many practical methods in one year and use them directly in actual combat. Learning routines (traditional martial arts) often means that you haven't played routines well for a year, let alone applied them in actual combat. Japanese judo and Korean taekwondo are better. These two kinds of boxing are developed on the basis of China Wushu, and have become Olympic events. The reason is that Judo and Taekwondo, like wrestling, adopt practical teaching methods and master various methods of attack and defense in practice. Judo, Taekwondo and wrestling are effective quickly, so we should reconsider traditional martial arts and improve teaching methods. Only in this way can we really and effectively promote the development of Tai Ji Chuan, speed up the learning process, shorten the learning time, and meet the needs of more Tai Ji Chuan fans to learn boxing.
In order to really improve the efficiency of training, we must carry out scientific training and arrange training courses reasonably.
Tai Ji Chuan is a boxing sport within the family. His actions are guided by thoughts. What idea you give him will have any effect If you only pay attention to whether the boxing frame is standardized, how to move your waist and how to swing your arms, and have no sense of attack and defense, then the Tai Ji Chuan you are practicing is Tai Chi.
