According to the requirements of the 11th Five-Year Plan of Beijing Sports Development, the Municipal Sports Bureau plans to renovate Taoranting Swimming Pool. The renovation project mainly includes swimming pool, comprehensive training hall, sports training center and supporting facilities (sports medical rehabilitation center, sports exhibition, etc. The planned swimming pool will replace the outdoor swimming pool.

According to the design released by the Municipal Planning Commission on June 7, 20 10, the original swimming pool, sports medical rehabilitation center, sports exhibition area, training center and comprehensive training hall will be built, and the building height will be controlled at18m. However, there is no outdoor swimming pool in the design.

After the transformation, its orientation mainly highlights physical fitness, physical education teaching and training, sports team training and competition. After professional training, we will face the public, release redundant sports facilities, and serve the people of Cheng Nan for swimming and fitness.

In the summer of 20 10, the original Taoranting swimming pool was closed and rebuilt. At present, some facilities around the swimming pool have been demolished.
