The Outline of the National Fitness Program adopts the method of overall planning and gradual implementation. The period from 1995 to 20 10 is divided into two stages:

Phase I project: 1995 -2000. All the work of the national fitness program has been carried out in an all-round way and achieved universal results. The basic framework of the national fitness system with China characteristics has been completed.

Phase II Project: 200 1 -20 10. After 10 years' efforts, it is necessary to raise the national fitness work to a new level and basically build a national fitness system with China characteristics.

● National Fitness Day

August 8th, 2009 is the first anniversary of the Beijing Olympic Games and the first national fitness day in China. On this special day, a large-scale activity "Celebrating Beijing National Fitness Day" jointly sponsored by the State Sports General Administration, the Central Civilization Office, the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the China Sports Federation and other units has officially kicked off recently.

To celebrate the National Fitness Day on August 8, the main venue in Beijing consists of the launching ceremony of the National Fitness Day and the 2009 National Fitness Day celebration and the National Fitness Carnival. The launching ceremony will be held in the West Square of the National Stadium on the morning of August 8, when state leaders will attend the launching ceremony. The "National Fitness Carnival" will be held in the National Olympic Sports Center for three consecutive days from August 7 to 9. Carnival consists of four parts: competition, exhibition, discussion and sightseeing. As a large-scale activity sponsored by the State Sports General Administration, the General Administration's Youth League Department, Propaganda Department, Olympic Sports Center, Social Sports Center, Equipment Center, Air Traffic Control Center, Sports Institute, Wushu Center, Qigong Center and Beijing Sports Bureau 65430.

In addition to the traditional national fitness events and competitions, the activities also add a lot of new and interesting fashion fitness sports. In the National Fitness Challenge, the national champions of skipping rope, arm wrestling, hula hoop and other 10 projects were decided with personal best results. Digital Games will make use of new Internet technologies to conduct virtual battles, high-standard national fitness forums, lectures on authoritative experts' health knowledge, professional sailing model performances and novel orienteering events. During the games, the Olympic venues related to the Olympic Sports Center are also open to the public free of charge. It is estimated that 200,000 Beijing citizens will come to participate in the three-day activity. "National Fitness, Building Harmony and Celebrating National Day" will be the biggest mass activity before the 60th National Day.
