What is the relationship between exercise and longevity? Why do some people live longer without exercise?
Under the influence of China traditional culture, longevity has always been pursued by many people. As the saying goes, walk a hundred paces after a meal and live to ninety-nine. It can be seen that in people's minds, exercise plays an important role in "prolonging life". Now, we can often see many elderly people in fitness. They improve their immunity and prevent some diseases through fitness exercise.

Many people can live a long life without exercise, but this does not mean that exercise is not good for longevity. As we often say, life lies in exercise. Physical exercise is beneficial to enhance cardiopulmonary function, improve the functional state of blood circulation system, respiratory system and digestive system, improve disease resistance, enhance the adaptability of the body, and reduce the risk of premature aging. Therefore, exercise and fitness are naturally beneficial to the health and longevity of the body.

Although many long-lived rural elderly people do not often exercise, they often sweep the floor, visit houses, plant flowers and vegetables, and feed livestock. So, although they don't exercise as planned, in fact, their daily exercise is fixed. In cities and towns, many elderly people may choose to read books and watch TV at home, resulting in less exercise. Therefore, more and more elderly people began to exercise and increase the amount of exercise. Therefore, although centenarians don't exercise regularly, they can basically ensure the amount of activities they need every day, so it is not contrary to the "fitness fever".

Whether a person can live a long and healthy life is related to genes, environment, eating habits and lifestyle. For genes, it is determined by heredity, and we can't change too much. But we can do this and reduce the influence of other factors:

1. Reasonable eating habits. Eat more cereals, fresh fruits and vegetables, and eat a low-salt and low-fat diet.

2. Quit smoking and drinking. As we all know, long-term smoking and drinking have effects on organs such as lungs and liver.

3. Keep a positive and optimistic attitude. I read a report before that most of those centenarians are confident, optimistic and have harmonious families. We also know that long-term mental stress and negative attitude towards things can easily lead to human diseases. Therefore, it is important to maintain an optimistic and positive attitude.

4. Ensure proper exercise.
