Main Building South Education College Marxist School of Science (Department of Mathematics and Department of Physics) Main Building Center School of Materials Science and Engineering (Non-chemical Engineering) Main Building North Living Group, Central District, Southern District, Western District, Master's, Doctor's and Teacher's Apartment Campus are all around the central area. The front area of the new campus consists of a central square, a conference center and a teaching group of arts and sciences. The design scheme combines the ancient architectural elements and modern architectural features of China, which is compatible with the overall campus planning and architectural atmosphere, with complete functions and unique features. The central square is surrounded by circular buildings, which skillfully solves the turning relationship of the central axis of the campus and ensures the smoothness of the whole space. The square library in the core island echoes the circular square from a distance, which is a metaphor for China's ancient philosophy of "the sky is round and the place is round". The adoption of the image of "annual rings" on the ground of the square and the design of the Beiyang memorial pavilion and the peripheral memorial wall metaphorically indicate the educational concept of "it takes ten years to plant trees, but it takes a hundred years to cultivate people", and show the long history and profound campus culture of our school.
Among them, the south side is the liberal arts complex building, including grammar, education and Marxism colleges and public teaching buildings, the north side is the non-chemical part of the discipline building of the Institute of Materials, and the buildings around the central square are the comprehensive building and conference center of the College of Science. The comprehensive gymnasium of the new campus is located on the north side of the former campus. Its main function is to meet the requirements of daily teaching and scientific research and physical exercise for teachers and students. Among them, the land area of the gymnasium is about 2 1 1,000 square meters, and the outdoor area is 48,000 square meters. Indoor gymnasium includes all kinds of ball games, track and field, dance, fitness, taekwondo, swimming and other venues, and the rest are teaching, scientific research and supporting facilities. Outdoor venues, various venues, centralized equipment venues and extreme sports venues can provide rich venues for teachers and students.
The gymnasium of the new campus of Tianjin University was designed by Li Xinggang Studio, which formed a "sports complex" integrating indoor and outdoor, floor and roof. According to their plane size, clear height and use mode, all kinds of sports venues are connected in series with linear public spaces with flexible rules. A series of straight curved surfaces and curved concrete arches for roofs and external walls bring large-span space and high-side windows for lighting, forming a quiet and changeable architectural outline. Water and Civil Engineering Teaching Group-The comprehensive building is shared by the College of Civil Engineering and the College of Environment, and is mainly used for teaching buildings, experimental buildings and research rooms. Different laboratories have specific technical requirements.
