First, there is no need for an older person to be the director of the office.

You are 47 years old, and your mind is detached. Why wait on others? It will also be uncomfortable mentally. Some members of the leadership team are younger than you. How can you be indifferent to serving them? If they criticize you, your face will be ugly.
Second, excessive drinking and socializing are harmful to physical and mental health.
At the age of 47, when people reach middle age, the workplace will go downhill and their physical condition will also appear. Pay attention to maintenance, fitness and health preservation. Simple tea and light rice are good for health. As the director of the office, it is inevitable to be responsible for reception, arrange entertainment and drink too much. Don't drink bad stomach, damage your health, and the loss outweighs the gain.
Third, what are the prospects for a person to become an office director in middle age?
Unit refers to the unit in the system. According to the existing age policy, the 47-year-old middle class will basically not be promoted to the top. Nowadays, young talents are being reused, and some units have drawn a hard lever of age. Generally, people over 45 will not be promoted.
