Let me share my experience briefly, hoping to provide some help to friends who are interested in this industry.

First, contact the industry

Contact with this industry is purely accidental. During that time, the reports about formaldehyde incidents on the Internet were relatively concentrated, and I saw many similar news. Because the children are still young and the house has been decorated for several years, I am very worried. Later, my wife found a management company to come over for testing. It takes 1 hour to sample 5 points, and the cost is 500 yuan.

The feeling at that time was that it was too easy to earn this money, because the detected consumables looked like only tens of milliliters of "white water". How much will it cost? ......

During the examination, I asked the staff about the cost of treatment. According to the area of my home 130 square meters, if it exceeds the standard, it needs to be handled. The cost is 4500 yuan, and it takes about half a day. The form of treatment is to decompose formaldehyde by spraying reagents. At that time, my heart was not calm, and the income per unit time in this industry was too high! (Fortunately, the test results were normal at that time).

As a post-80s generation who grew up in the era of information explosion, I know that the Internet has a great influence on people's inherent thinking. As the backbone of society, post-80s and post-90s are more receptive to new things and new ideas. So I preliminarily judge that this market is promising.

In the next few days, I made a preliminary understanding of the market in Wuhan and found that although there are many similar companies, they are basically small companies and have not formed an influential brand. In other words, the market is still in a state of relatively fair competition. How to do it depends entirely on your own ability.

Second, the preliminary preparation

Originally, I planned to quit the company where I worked for 10 years, and I also found a new home, ready to submit my resignation application. However, after I finished the formaldehyde test at home that day, I was very excited and thought that this industry might be a bit ahead. I simply told my wife my thoughts, and she also expressed her approval and support, so I embarked on the road of investigation with expectation.

The first stop, Europe ... in Changchun, Jilin (in order to avoid suspicion, I changed the company name to ellipsis), I experienced the cold in the northeast for the first time in my life, and the temperature was below zero 19℃, which directly turned into a "dog". I can't take it anymore. After I visited the company, I flew away that night. ...

At the second stop, there are two slightly famous companies in Hangzhou. I won't go into details. You can ask Baidu directly if you want to know. It took three days before and after this stop, which is a relatively detailed understanding.

After a week's visit to these cities, I have a general understanding of this industry. After this round of investigation, I gave up the idea of joining at the beginning because I didn't think this way was suitable for me. As for the reasons, I briefly summarize them as follows:

First of all, the marketing models of these companies are basically the same, saying that they don't want to join, but they still need to pay at least 60,000 yuan at a time, and then return it to the agent in the form of goods later, which is essentially the need to press the goods.

My idea is simple, interlaced like a mountain. Before I had a deep understanding of the industry, I initially prepared so many goods. Personally, I feel a little risky and not suitable for a conservative like me. Of course, if the cost can be lower, I may consider it.

Secondly, I personally think that joining is nothing more than taking advantage of the reputation of big companies, but at present, the industry has not yet formed a so-called brand company. Of course, it is undeniable that some large companies still have some influence in their local headquarters, but in other regions, customers don't buy it.

Moreover, as a startup, I don't want to spend too much money in a strange industry as soon as I start. One is that I am poor, and the other is that I am not quite in line with my cautious personality.

Of course, the above is only based on my own understanding of this way of entering the business, not to say that this way is definitely not desirable. If you have friends with abundant funds, joining those companies is also an option.

Third, the groping stage

Finally, I gave up the way of joining and decided to start my own business. The reason why I dare to try independently is mainly because I have 10 years of work experience. Although I am not rich, I have seen a lot, and I have confidence in my self-study ability.

My thinking is relatively clear, mainly divided into the following steps:

1. It is very important to understand and learn the relevant knowledge of the industry background, analyze the current situation of the industry, and draw my own conclusion-whether I can do this industry or not. If you can't convince yourself that you can do it after your own understanding and analysis, there is no need to continue. Even if you see people in the industry making money, please believe that it is difficult for you to make this money when your subjective consciousness feels unreliable.

2. Learn relevant professional knowledge. Without guidance, I really need to spend some time and briefly talk about how I learned it.

First of all, online video is a good choice. There are many such videos on the Internet, but this method can only see a scratch. Secondly, in the last round of inspection, I asked to go to the construction sites of those companies for a brief observation (of course, not all companies will let me go), and I had the opportunity to add two managers' WeChat.

Third, after returning to Wuhan, I made a thorough investigation of my peers as a customer, claiming that my family was to be governed or disguised as the head of logistics of a company, and asked to check the project of governing the company on the grounds that the company office wanted in addition to formaldehyde. Then, it's gone ...

In this way, I have seen more than a dozen treatment points through different treatment companies, which are roughly the same. There is little difference between each treatment method. Of course, there's one thing I didn't say. I found some manufacturers selling reagents and got the electronic documents of their product manuals, which generally contain the usage of reagents. In this way, the second difficulty is basically solved.

3. Initially determine the products and testing equipment, but this place has taken many detours. Different companies use different governance products, and it is difficult for latecomers to find out which one works well at first.

Similarly, the selection of testing equipment is also very nerve-racking, and it is a difficult problem to distinguish the accuracy of the equipment. In this process, with the in-depth understanding of the industry, it is increasingly found that the water in the industry is too deep. Finally, the products and equipment were initially selected (I don't know that the first pit after entering the business fell on a selected therapeutic reagent).

4. Register a company. In this step, I went directly to the agency. The cost is generally above 1000 yuan. It takes about 65,438+00 working days to apply for a business license. Not much to say here.

5. Opening up the market, this link is one of the difficulties of the project, and it is also a "system engineering". The following are some personal understandings.

There is no "win-win" method, and all kinds of methods need to be tried boldly. Even if the subconscious thinks that some methods are not effective, suggestions still need to be tried with heart. You can only know if you have experienced it.

I have done activities in the community in the early stage, swept the building, and talked about cooperation with some merchants in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. In fact, basically every way can bring benefits, just a matter of time.

I was sweeping the building and posting small advertisements. I climbed 2 1 building in the most day, and I was really tired. Different communities need to adopt different ways, some can stick stickers, some can only insert business cards, and some communities prohibit small advertisements, which need to be considered in combination with the actual situation of the community.

There are a few points I want to focus on.

1. Don't spend money to be a member of some online platforms at the beginning. Personally, I think this kind of online promotion can only be icing on the cake. It is difficult to attract customers before the company has a certain exposure in the early stage. And platform promotion is also particular. Pay attention to distinguish between off-peak season and peak season. At the same time, different cities should adopt flexible methods.

As a novice, whether you join or not, don't go to the whole store as soon as you start, except that it will increase your pressure and promote joining the company, which will basically not bring you any benefits. Why do you say that? Because although this project belongs to the service industry, it is very different from the traditional catering and clothing industries.

For catering and clothing, potential buyers pass by, but for this project, they can't be copied, because their target customer groups are different, and the potential customer flow that stores can bring is quite limited. It is no exaggeration to say that once a store is opened, it means that it is not far from failure.

3. In the initial stage, it is recommended to start with people around you. I believe that the first orders of many peers are obtained through friends or personal resources accumulated in the early stage. As a new entrant, it is difficult to win the trust of strangers, but if it is a friend relationship or a friend introduction, the trust problem will be well solved, so you can work hard on acquaintances at the beginning.

4. Cross-industry cooperation is a cost-effective method in the early stage, which needs key management. It's too narrow to run the market on your own legs. At this time, you need to give full play to some people in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to help you publicize and provide information. In this way, you can get more exposure and customer flow, which will help you open the market to a great extent.

5. Word-of-mouth shaping is very important. Every time you win a customer, you must serve well, you can give it to the customer appropriately, and then ask him to help you make friends or publicize it in the circle around you. The effect will be very good. Of course, there is a premise that you can gain the full trust of customers, which depends on the quality of service, professionalism, basic skills and personal comprehensive quality.
