Beijing Sport University, referred to as Beijing Sport University for short, is one of the first batch of national key institutions identified by the State Council after the founding of New China. It is a national "2 1 1 project" key construction institution, and has entered the "discipline innovation and intelligence introduction program for colleges and universities", and is affiliated to the State Sports General Administration.

In 2007, the first-level discipline of school physical education was rated as a national key discipline, ranking first in the three national-level discipline evaluations organized by the Ministry of Education. It has been rated as a six-star university for many years in the ranking of universities across the Taiwan Straits [1].

The school was founded in 1952, formerly known as the Central Institute of Physical Education. 1956 was renamed Beijing Institute of Physical Education, and 1993 was renamed Beijing Sport University. In 2007, he passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education with excellent results.
