This is the main reason why running on the treadmill is not recommended. First of all, running itself puts a lot of pressure on the knees and needs to bear more than 6 times the weight. If you don't know the running posture, it is an exercise that hurts your knee.
An ordinary gymnast who doesn't learn running posture is 5 kilometers a day, 10 kilometers. Within three months, his knee will definitely have pain or discomfort.
2. Some friends may ask, isn't running on the treadmill more labor-saving and relaxing than running on the ground? It is reasonable to say that the knee pressure is also small. Why does it hurt your knee more?
In fact, there will be a pushing force when running on the ground. At this time, the centripetal contraction of muscles will help the knee joint share more pressure, and the position of the foot will remain unchanged after landing, and the knee will be relatively more stable.
On the treadmill, the instantaneous filtering of the foot behind the runway will lead to the passive bending of the knee, and at the same time, it will reduce the muscle contraction without too much forward pedaling force, but the falling weight is equivalent, so the pressure on the knee joint is actually greater than that on the ground.
For treadmills, it is recommended to use them in the following two situations.
1, warm-up: simply walk fast and jog for about 5 minutes to warm up your body. The treadmill is good, but if you can actually do it on the ground, there is no need to get on the treadmill. Of course, jogging to warm up in the gym is always strange, so the chance of running will make your warm-up activities more natural. So use the treadmill reasonably.
As for aerobic exercise, losing weight and improving heart and lung function, it is not limited to running. It's like losing more weight or controlling diet plus proper strength training, and improving heart and lung function as long as it is continuous low-intensity exercise (such as aerobic exercise and swimming) and so on. Treadmill is only recommended as the last choice.
As for why running on a treadmill is not recommended, it is mainly because it will cause greater knee joint pressure. Besides, there are many kinds of sports, not limited to running. If you really like running, why not run outdoors? Of course, proper treadmill exercise is certainly much better than no exercise at all.
