Baduanjin is a kind of gymnastics used to regulate qi and blood of zang-fu organs, restore metabolic function and keep fit. It originated in the Northern Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 800 years. The ancients compared this set of movements to "brocade", which means colorful and gorgeous luxury.
The technique of Ba Duan Jin is divided into eight stages, named as: holding the triple energizer with both hands, opening a bow like a sculpture from left to right, conditioning the spleen and stomach with one hand, looking back at five strains with seven injuries, shaking one's head and wagging one's tail to get rid of heart fire, climbing the kidney and waist with both hands, gathering fists and glaring to increase strength, and getting rid of diseases behind him.
The origin of Baduanjin:
Baduanjin has a long history and is widely spread. Because it is easy to learn, it is deeply loved by the people. Xu Xun's Ling Jian Zi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty recorded the origin of Baduanjin. However, the earliest name of "Baduanjin" appeared in the book Jian Yizhi by Hong Mai in the Song Dynasty. Therefore, most people think that Baduanjin was created in the Song Dynasty.
In fact, according to historical records, the origin of Baduanjin in health qigong can be traced back to ancient times. According to legend, more than 4,000 years ago, the land of the Central Plains was flooded, and the people suffered from rain and humidity for a long time, which led to atrophy of bones and muscles and stagnation of qi and blood. At this time, a wise man invented a "dance" to treat these diseases. Slowly, this magical dance has evolved into what we call the lead dance, which is what is called Baduanjin in modern times.
