After graduation, I went from Shanghai to Xinjiang Military Region to participate in the production and construction work in Xinjiang. While working with the soldiers, I drew nearly a thousand sketches and watercolors of the labor site. The oil painting "The Suburb of Urumqi" (participated in the National Youth Art Exhibition) and the New Year picture "Unite to Build a New Xinjiang" won awards in the autonomous region. At the same time, he made Mao Zedong and Stalin, the first architectural sculpture in New China, for October Tractor Group Company (who won the gold medal in Lanzhou Military Region and is still in our hospital), Bethune for the military hospital (who won the gold medal in the autonomous region), and played songs and dances for the People's Theatre. They often appeared on TV and other media as symbols of Xinjiang. From 1956 to 1960, he worked in the editorial department of the military history and art exhibition of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army, the military museum, the Ministry of Agriculture and other places, and created Mao Zedong in the central hall of the military museum, Mao Zedong during the Zunyi Conference (in cooperation with Cheng Yunxian) and Relief of the Xinjiang Hall of the Great Hall of the People. Sculptures "Learn to sow" and "Pick Cotton" were included in PLA Pictorial and Art Exhibition Album. He created a large-scale Chinese painting Celebrating Harvest for the exhibition Nanniwan-Tianshan Mountain in Beijing (the painting was once covered by China Agricultural Reclamation magazine). After 1960, he went to Qinghai Province to make sculptures such as "Running Horse", "White-haired Girl" and "Red Female Soldier" for Guinan Military Racecourse and Xining Traffic Workers Club, and drew movie advertisements with unique oil painting techniques for several years, which had a great influence in Xining. 1974 left Qinghai and went back and forth between Jinan and Beijing. Sculptures such as Don't Be Afraid, Li Bai, Du Fu, Trying on New Clothes and Weaving Girl were made, and more than a thousand Dunhuang Buddha statues were copied for the Silk Road Expo held in Nara in 1988 (which was highly praised for its cool original works). He also participated in urban sculpture in Tai 'an, and collaborated with student Hou Yong on Zhang Zhongjing, Three Children at the Fountain at the Bridge Head of Taishan Bridge, Granite Stone Carving, Female Teacher, Fertility and Running Horse, etc.
1989, due to poor health, I began to write small letters at home in Jinan. In order to persist in writing for a long time without being boring, I chose to copy the whole book and write millions of words every day for several years.
From 65438 to 0996, he moved to An, lived in seclusion, painted Chinese paintings and practiced calligraphy, sorted out his works in his later years, and occasionally made some sculptures, such as the bronze statue of Lu Ban, the five world table tennis champions in Jiangsu, and the small bronze statue of Che Zu.
