It is recommended to check once after menstruation is clean in the first month after putting on the ring, and check again after three months to prevent the ring from falling off.
"Ring" is the most commonly used long-term contraceptive measure for women of childbearing age in China, and often a ring can be placed in the body for more than ten years. Releasing the ring itself is a minor operation. Putting a foreign body into the uterine cavity requires an adaptation process.
The scientific name of "ring" is intrauterine device, abbreviated as IUD. Placed in the uterine cavity of women of childbearing age, the purpose of abortion and contraception is achieved through mechanical stimulation and chemical interference, which does not inhibit ovulation and does not affect the female endocrine system, thus avoiding the adverse reactions of general drug contraception. After years of practice and improvement, most of the intrauterine devices currently used in clinic are copper-containing or drug-containing intrauterine devices, and the stent materials are plastic, polyethylene, memory alloy and so on. And their shapes are not single, such as round, T-shaped, V-shaped, Y-shaped, chain-shaped and so on. Different materials and shapes of intrauterine devices have their own characteristics, which can be applied to women with different constitutions and needs.
The mechanism of human pregnancy is that women's ovaries expel eggs, which are fertilized at the ampulla of fallopian tubes, and then develop into embryos (morulae) in fallopian tubes, and then the embryos are discharged into the uterus for implantation and growth. Contraception is to prevent any of these steps.
The contraceptive principle of intrauterine device (IUD) is that when an embryo is to be implanted into the uterus, the constantly moving IUD scrapes the uterine wall, causing aseptic inflammation of the uterus, so that the embryo can not be implanted into the uterus normally, thus causing abortion and achieving the purpose of contraception. The nature of intrauterine contraceptive ring (IUD) is long-term mild curettage abortion, which is the first choice for Chinese women to use contraception after marriage.
Inert intrauterine device: made of stainless steel wire or plastic and silica gel, such as metal single ring, torsion ring, stainless steel uterine ring, etc.
Copper-containing intrauterine device (IUD): It is the most widely used active IUD at present, which uses the killing effect of copper on sperm or fertilized eggs to enhance contraceptive effect.
IUD releases progesterone: The progesterone contained in IUD is slowly and continuously released into uterine cavity, which can improve contraceptive effect and obviously reduce bleeding.
Intrauterine devices that release hemostatic drugs: It can effectively control the increase of menstrual flow after placing intrauterine devices.
The foreign body effect of intrauterine device can cause asexual inflammation of endometrium, thus affecting the implantation of fertilized eggs. In addition to the above functions, washing IUDs and copper-containing IUDs also release copper ions for intrauterine birth control, which has a killing effect on sperm and embryos.
The intrauterine device containing progesterone can release progesterone into the uterus for a long time, which makes the endometrium contract, which is not conducive to the implantation of fertilized eggs. These two functions further strengthen the contraceptive effect of the active intrauterine device.
Women who wear rings for the first time especially want to know when the rings are best to wear. In fact, at present, apart from the contraindications of releasing rings, the time of releasing rings is rarely limited. After a lot of practice and scientific appraisal, scientific and technical personnel believe that it is safe and feasible to release the ring in the following periods:
(1) Keep it when menstruation is unclean. On the 3rd-5th day of menstrual cramps, there are three advantages during this period: First, the cervix is loose and easy to put in. Second, when menstruation has just arrived, pregnancy can be ruled out and the ring will not be placed in the pregnant uterus by mistake. Third, it avoids the worry and inconvenience caused by a small amount of bleeding after releasing the ring.
(2) Placed after menstruation is clean. It is advisable to ring the ring 3-7 days after menstruation is clean and there is no sexual history, because the endometrium has just begun to grow and is thin at this time, so bleeding can be avoided when placed, and there is no sexual life after menstruation, which also avoids the possibility that fertilized eggs have grown on the endometrium when ring it. Generally, most women will choose to release the ring at this time.
(3) Release the ring immediately after delivery. At this time, the operation is simple and easy, and contraceptive measures can be implemented in time, but it can only be placed after approval by obstetricians.
(4) Placed 42 days after delivery. That is, about 42 days after delivery, it should be placed at the same time as health examination. The advantages of placing at this time are: first, cervical relaxation. Second, the uterus has returned to normal size and has not shrunk due to long-term breastfeeding. Third, contraceptive measures were implemented in time, which facilitated women and avoided the occurrence of "hidden fetus".
(5) IUD can also be taken out more than three months after delivery. However, it should be noted that if this time is lactation, although there is no menstruation, there is still the possibility of pregnancy, which is what people usually call a "dark fetus." Therefore, women who haven't menstruated after delivery should first check with a doctor to see if they are pregnant, and they can be released if they are not pregnant.
(6) IUD should be released immediately after induced abortion or curettage. The advantage is that contraceptive measures are implemented at the same time in one operation, which reduces the pain and is convenient for women.
(7) After natural abortion or induced abortion curettage, return to normal menstruation and release the ring.
(8) Cesarean section at the same time or surgery for half a year, the situation is normal, you can also consider releasing the ring.
(9) If the previously placed ring has expired and needs to be replaced, you can put in a new ring while taking it. You can also put in a new ring after the next menstrual period is clean. But you must remember to pay attention to contraception this month after taking the ring.
(10) Placed within 5 days after unprotected sexual intercourse, it can be used for emergency contraception.
(1 1) within 7 days after menstruation, preferably on the third or fourth day after menstruation.
