The special police in GTA5 is a department of the Los Angeles Police Department (LVPD), which is responsible for handling serious crimes and special situations. They usually receive special training to better cope with unexpected situations.

Special police officers usually wear navy long-sleeved shirts, bulletproof vests and navy trousers with holsters. They wear black gloves, black balaclava wool hats, navy blue bulletproof helmets and goggles. They are also equipped with Jian Zihao submachine guns and usually work in groups of four. When photographing criminals driving cars, they prefer to photograph tires rather than cars.

Generally speaking, SWAT is a well-equipped, well-trained and quick-responding police force in GTA5.
