This film is based on the novel Top Secret: President, CIA Director and Special Agent by stanfield Turner, who was the director of the CIA from 1977 to 198 1. CIA agent Osborne (john malkovich) is fired for drinking, and in retaliation, he begins to write a scandal memoir. His wife Katie (Tilda Swinton) has long wanted to divorce him. She stole his memoir CD, but accidentally left it in the gym. Stupid fitness instructor Chad (Brad Pitt) and gym owner Linda (Frances McDormand) find this CD and want to blackmail Osborne.
