Is heating underwear really thin and warm? Can self-heating underwear be cleaned correctly?
It is very hot to heat underwear in winter. Many people see this function, just like placing an order to buy it, but it is not high-tech. Most of them use moisture to heat up. So, is the heated underwear really thin and warm? Can self-heating underwear be cleaned normally? Let me introduce you.

Is the heating underwear really thin and warm?

According to reports, the heating underwear currently sold on the market is also different from the previous far-infrared functional underwear, which is generally moisture-absorbing heating underwear. According to relevant standards, the definition of moisture-absorbing and heating knitted underwear is "knitted underwear woven from moisture-absorbing and heating materials, which meets the quality assurance requirements of this standard".

According to Wang Zhi, director of China Knitting Technical Committee, heating underwear first appeared in Japan, and the fabric is mainly made of daily chemical fiber, which has good moisture absorption effect, while most common heating underwear on the market adopts moisture absorption and heating.

In fact, most fibers have this effect, but the degree is different. From the point of view of heating effect, natural materials such as wool and viscose are generally more hygroscopic and have higher heating value than ordinary fibers.

According to experts, moisture-absorbing and heating underwear is not a "high-tech". Generally speaking, the moisture absorption and heating performance of fiber has a great relationship with the moisture regain of fiber. The greater the moisture regain of fiber, the better the moisture absorption and heating performance. Viscose fiber, modal fiber, cotton and other materials have higher specified moisture regain and better moisture absorption and heating performance. Most moisture-absorbing and heating underwear on the market is mainly composed of the above fibers. At the same time, the moisture absorption and heating performance of heating underwear is also related to the thickness of the fabric and the gram weight per unit area. Generally, under the condition of the same fiber composition, the thicker the fabric, the better the moisture absorption and heating performance.

The relevant person in charge of the National Textile Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center said that hydrophilic genes in fibers combine with water molecules in the air, and some heat will be emitted during the combination process. All kinds of fibers will release some heat after absorbing water, but this heat should be limited.

Can self-heating underwear be cleaned normally?

After daily cleaning, the performance of moisture-absorbing and heating fiber will not be affected, and it can be cleaned normally. However, because the fabrics of moisture-absorbing and heating underwear are often blended with various fibers, including moisture-absorbing and heating fibers, some fabrics also adopt special weaving technology. When cleaning, it is recommended to gently wash with warm water, avoid washing with high temperature and hard rubbing, and avoid exposure.

However, electric heating clothes are generally not recommended to be washed. Washing with water will damage the electric heating fiber or heater, reduce the heating effect or bring potential safety hazards.

In short, qualified "self-heating" underwear will be warmer to wear, although it can't really heat up out of thin air.

At present, there is no mandatory standard for moisture-absorbing and heating underwear in China, but we can refer to the industry standard FZ/T 73036-20 10 "Moisture-absorbing and heating knitted underwear" to evaluate moisture-absorbing and heating underwear.

The standard puts forward two indicators of moisture absorption and heating performance, one is that the maximum temperature increase is greater than or equal to 4.0℃, and the other is that the average temperature increase within 30 minutes is greater than or equal to 3.0℃.

Attention! Here is an important knowledge point!

Key points: underwear that meets the standards will be clearly marked in the column of the implementation standard of the commodity tag as conforming to FZ/T73036-20 10 "Moisture Absorbing and Heating Knitted Underwear".

When we buy underwear, we can look at this label as a reference for buying or not.
