Fancy skipping refers to the movement in which participants jump over one or more ropes in various ways.

Fancy rope skipping is a traditional sport in Xi, Shaanxi Province, and it is one of the fourth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage lists in Shaanxi Province. On the basis of traditional rope skipping, fancy rope skipping combines dance, skills, martial arts, street dance, music and other sports art forms, and combines speed and strength, difficulty and pattern, and gradually develops into a sports event integrating fitness, entertainment, competition and performance. In 2002, fancy rope skipping was included in the Third National Games of Shaanxi Province.

Fancy jump rope, rope length 10 m to 13 m, diameter more than inches. Two people each hold one end of the fancy skipping rope and turn in the same direction at the same time. Single, double or several people imitate animal gestures on the rope to do actions such as lifting, flashing, rolling, turning and jumping. The amplitude and speed of rope swing can be adjusted according to the movements of the rope skipper, and the hand and eyes are coordinated.
