Recently, a study is investigating the influence of drinking milk after exercise, and it is found that milk can help people who exercise burn more fat. The research was conducted by researchers from McMaster University, by the Sports Metabolism Research Group of the Department of Sports Function, and led by Stuart Phillips. The findings were published in the August 9th issue of the American Journal of Cardiology.
It is reported that the researchers divided 56 young people between the ages of 18 and 30 into three groups and asked them to exercise five days a week in the 12 week weightlifting program. During the test, the participants in the first group drank two cups of skim milk, the second group drank a soybean drink with the same energy as protein, and the third group drank a carbohydrate drink with the same energy. At the end of the study, the researchers found that the group who drank milk lost almost twice as much fat as the group who drank carbohydrate drinks. The former burned 2 pounds of fat, while the latter burned 1 pound. Those who drank soy drinks didn't lose fat. At the same time, the group who drank milk gained more muscle than the study participants who drank soy drinks or carbohydrate drinks.
