Tongzhou District is located in the northeast wing of the Yangtze River Delta in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, starting from the village of Vertical Pinhong in Chuanjiang Town at 3152' north latitude in the south and reaching the village of Misanqiao in Liuqiao Town at 3215' north latitude in the north, with the maximum straight-line distance of 50 kilometers from north to south. Five dynasties from the west, east longitude 120 4 1', ending at the north side of Nantong saltworks, east longitude 12 1 25'. The maximum straight-line distance between east and west is 85 kilometers.
Tongzhou District is adjacent to the Yellow Sea in the east, with a coastline of 15.97 km. The western region is bordered by the Yangtze River in the south, with a coastline of 10.77 km. It is adjacent to Chongchuan District in the southwest, Haimen City in the southeast, Rudong County in the north and Rugao City in the northwest.
