General Ghost Raiders for Windows2000, XP and 2003 Systems
For a long time, installing operating system and application software is a thankless thing. Although the computer speed is getting faster and faster now, and the installation steps of the operating system are very simple, we can only wait for the system to be completed step by step, and then install the application software after the system is installed, and set the network access rights. A complete system takes almost a day, and it doesn't matter if it is installed occasionally. If there are many computers, or helping others install computers, it is definitely not possible. !
Although Windows system has unattended installation program, it won't save much time at all. After the system is installed, you still need to install applications and set network permissions. It will take a lot of time! And during the installation, most people just sit there and wait!
Then can we install an operating system and other applications on a brand-new machine in 10 minutes, which used to take a day to install? ! The answer is yes. As we all know, in order to install the machine conveniently and save time, most people will use GHOST (clone) software to make a backup of their operating system. (Although the backed-up files take up more space, the space of 1-2G is not a problem for today's large-capacity hard disks! ) When the system crashes or other problems fail to start, using GHOST can restore your operating system and applications within 5 minutes, which is enough to save you a whole day! But those are local backups, so everyone is wondering if we can make a universal GHOST and restore it quickly on other people's computers, which will not only save time, but also complete some work that was impossible before. In fact, we only need to solve the hardware driver and XP system activation problem!
One. Preliminary basic work:
1. Prepare the required tools and software.
GHOST8.0 or above CD startup disk.
* Standard and Poor's. R & ampS_V9.5 Intelligent system packaging tool
:: Deployment. CAB (brought into the system installation CD: \SUPPORT\TOOLS directory)
Note: WIN2000/XP/2003 is not universal.
*Windows2K/XP/2003 system installation CD (it is recommended to use the activation-free version, you should know the serial number; You can also use software that displays serial numbers or counters to calculate the VOL version)
*DllCacheManager_V 1.5 (recommended by Dragon Empire Special Edition) DLlcache backup and restore tool (/soft/softview/softview _17.html)
* UltraISO (floppy disk) registered version
2. Install the operating system
Precautions during installation: If you don't make a pure version of Ghost, you'd better have a backup partition of FAT32, install the operating system normally and make system security patches (you must install it to drive C, and don't install it to other partitions unless you are a Ghost of the whole hard disk). The operating system can be installed in two file formats, FAT32 and NTFS. It is suggested to adopt FAT32 file format, because Ghost has a greater compression ratio to FTA32, which can reduce the volume of backup files after production. Another is that FTA32 format can be converted into NTFS after recovery, and it is more troublesome to convert NTFS into FTA32, so it is more flexible to adopt FAT32 file format.
Of course, if you carefully look at the differences between MS FAT and NTFS, and between NTFS and Convert NTFS, you should know that "native" NTFS has advantages over converted NTFS in terms of performance and file fragmentation, so it is also recommended that people who pay attention to performance use NTFS file format to install the operating system ("native" refers to partitions formatted directly with NTFS file format, rather than through convert conversion).
3. Install application software (optional)
Install, register and set up the application software you need, such as Office, Winrar, input method, etc.
Note: After repackaging the system with sysprep, the system will restore the relevant settings of the input method to the system default state when the installation is resumed, and the newly installed input method before packaging will not be displayed in the language bar list, so it needs to be added again manually. For this reason, WindowsXP system can make the following settings before the system is packaged: open the control panel, double-click the regional and language options, select Advanced, select "Apply all settings to current user account and default user profile" under the "Default user account settings" box, and then click "OK", so that the input method related settings of the language bar are added to the default profile of the system. After repackaging the system, the newly installed input method can be automatically added to the input method list in the language bar when reinstalling.
4. Install S&; R & ampS_V9.5, Intelligent System Packaging Tool ((The latest power judging program will not be changed [9.5. Directly support AMD 64-bit CPU, without using the system environment supporting AMD 64; Support WINDOWS XP Home Edition automatic response encapsulation; Fix the HAL problem under WIN 2000, integrate various USB keyboard and mouse drivers, improve the recognition of PS/2 keyboard and mouse, and ensure the operation when the selection interface appears)
Double-click s&; R & ampS9.5 intelligent system packaging tool only needs "Next" all the way, and it will automatically create a sysprep folder in the root directory of the current system partition. Then select and copy the deployment. Copy the. CAB file in the system installation CD \SUPPORT\TOOLS directory to the sysprep folder (the directory and files in the directory will be automatically deleted when the system is packaged and installed for the first time).
5. Install DllCacheManager_V 1.0 (Dragon Empire Special Edition) Dllcache backup and restore tool (optional).
Unzip the DllCacheManager.rar file, and then copy the DllCacheManager.exe and ZProgBar.ocx files to the %systemroot% directory (C:/windows directory for XP system and C:/winnt directory for 2K system).
(Put DLlcache Manager1.51under drive C, and run backup recovery DLlcache Manager1.51when detecting new hardware, because the non-compact version does not need "detect plug and play", but the compact version must select this option). Cooperate with S&; R & When using S, autohal.exe will automatically call Dllcache Manager for backup recovery, and delete itself when installing the recovery packaging system after completing the packaging and running of Dllcache directory files backed up by DllCacheManager.exe. If you don't use S&; R & amps, you need to run DllCacheManager for manual recovery and then delete yourself; Or add DLlcachemanager/restore/autodelete/timeout (such as the command that runs for the first time after entering the system in Sysprep.inf file) in the relevant batch file. You can also extract DllCacheManager.rar files to any location in the current system partition. After running DllCacheManager.exe, you can choose "Automatically delete when restoring" or "Back up and delete yourself when restoring" for backup, and you can automatically restore the backup and delete yourself the next time the system is started. )
Two. Installation optimization of XP system (optional)
Because after the XP system is installed, there are many things in the system that we don't need at all. In order to save space and facilitate combustion, we need to optimize it. Of course, if you bring a hard disk every time you install a system for others, you don't need to optimize files to save space-I recommend that you use a hard disk to burn discs. ). When optimizing, we mainly delete some backup files and description files.
Turn off the sleep function of power management first!
1. Right-click the desktop-Properties-Screen Saver-Power-Advanced. As shown in the figure (must be done)
At this time, the page file hiberfil.sys in the root directory of drive C will be automatically deleted, and the size is your memory capacity. If you have 1G of memory, then the file size is 1G!
2. Then turn off the system restore and automatic online update functions, and click My Computer-Properties-System Restore and Automatic Update. (Must be completed)
3. Transfer the virtual memory page file:
Open the control panel, double-click "System", select "Advanced" in the system property panel, then click "Settings" in the performance box, select "Advanced" in the virtual memory box, select the current system partition C, then select "Custom Size", set the initial size and maximum value to "0", and then select the partition where the page file needs to be stored (such as D: etc.
The virtual memory page file Pagefile.sys is generally located in the root directory of the system partition, and the default setting size is 65438+ 0.5 times of physical memory. It is a stubborn hidden file that is difficult to delete, so it is best to transfer it to other partitions outside the system partition to reduce the volume of the system partition.
If you clone the system with a Ghost version above 8.0, (in fact, you don't need to do this, because the Ghost version above 8.0 can automatically delete the virtual memory page file pagefile. )
4, clean up the disk, delete the system and IE temporary files (optional below).
Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Cleanup-Select Drive-OK-Disk Cleanup-Select Delete File-OK.
* Delete IE temporary files and history.
Open IE- Tools-Internet Options-General-Delete Cookies(I)- OK-Delete Files (f)- OK-Delete History (h)- OK-OK.
* delete recently used document records
Start-Settings-Taskbar and [Start] Menu (t)-[ Start] Menu-[Start] Menu (s)- Customize (c)- Advanced-Clear List (c)- OK. Slimming, delete the following directories or files (delete directories without *):
To slim down, delete the following directories or files (delete directories without *): Optional.

3. Delete the original driver of XP system and clone it! (key)
At present, XP universal clones circulating on the Internet are all repackaged after deleting the driver (Microsoft officially uses a completely repackaged method).
We will take action step by step!
Open Device Manager (click My Computer-Properties-Hardware-Device Manager), as shown below: (The hardware of each computer is different, and the displayed content is different. My motherboard is Inter 8 10).
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
First, unload the driver inside and change it: pay attention to the order! !
First, uninstall the network card, universal serial bus controller, audio and electronic game controller, monitor and graphics card (it is normal that the graphics card still exists after uninstallation). ), right-click when uninstalling, and click Uninstall. The system prompts to restart, press No to not start! ! (The purpose of uninstalling the graphics card is to prevent the blue screen phenomenon that may occur when installing GHOST on other computers. ) Under normal circumstances, there is no hardware that can be uninstalled and deleted.
(Key) Next, change the advanced configuration power interface (ACPI) property of the computer to a standard PC.
Right-click the Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) and click Update Driver, and the update wizard will pop up. Click Install (Advanced) from the list or the specified location without searching. I want to choose my own program installation and switch to a standard PC. After clicking OK, the computer will also prompt to restart. Press no, don't start! (as shown in the figure below)
The reason for the change is that if the new machine has different types of ACPI, your newly cloned machine will not be able to realize soft shutdown of the computer and may crash after the first startup!
So when GHOST arrives at the new machine, just change the standard PC back to your corresponding power management mode, which is also the explanation that XP Universal GHSOT circulating on the Internet will remind you to do this step. "
Generally speaking, old computers only have standard PC options, but now most computers are equipped with Advanced Power Interface (ACPI). It is particularly important to note that the new computer power management after 2003 is generally acpi single processor pc!
Some people can't start the computer after changing the power management, which is the reason. Power management should be changed according to the computer type of the machine.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Finally, you must change the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller, which is the main step of XP General GHOST! ! If you don't do this step, GHOST can't start on other machines at all, and the computer will keep restarting! ! So in order to adapt to all kinds of motherboards now, (such as Inter motherboard, VIA motherboard, SIS motherboard) must be
Change your local IDE controller to a standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller! (key)
(as shown in the figure below)
Click (this machine is an IDE controller controlled by Intel (R) 8280 1AA bus-each motherboard is different), click Update Driver, and the update wizard will pop up. Click Install from a list or a specified location (Advanced). Do not search. I want to choose my own program installation and change it into a standard dual-channel PCI IDE controller.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++.
The system repackaging tool has been included in the Windows xp installation CD! The location is (X:\SUPPORT\TOOLS\DEPLOY. CAB) file
Sysprep.exe can repackage the system directly in enterprise deployment. CAB toolkit, provided with the system installation CD, or by S&; R & ampS_V9.5.0828 Intelligent system packaging tool can be intelligently packaged by calling Sysprep.exe (recommended). The difference between them is that the former needs to manually change the power management mode of the computer from the standard PC to the corresponding power management mode of the new machine after installing Ghost on the new machine, while the latter can automatically detect the HAL type of the hardware abstraction layer and realize the automatic identification and change of the power mode. Due to S&; R & ampS_V9.5.0828 intelligent system packaging tool adopts detecthal technology of longhorn, so the accuracy of hal can reach 100%, and it can directly enter the packaging process, with fast packaging speed and no need to restart the computer many times.
Note: Windows2k/XP/2003 system installation disk has its own packaging tool, but it is not universal!
1. Create sysprep.inf automatic answer file.
Whether the system is installed in factory mode or repackaged, users will be required to input some necessary contents, such as user name, computer name, installation serial number and so on. However, there is a problem, that is, when we need to input this information when the new Ghost clone is installed, the system has not found the driver of the keyboard and mouse, and the keyboard and mouse are in suspended animation. At this time, the system must install automatic response, so an automatic response file sysprep.inf is needed to complete the input of relevant information. The creation process is basically stupid, just follow the prompts step by step. It should be noted that the installation type step must be "sysprep installation" and the license agreement step should be "fully automatic installation", so that manual intervention is not needed in the installation process. You can also add commands that need to be run in Run Once, such as the command "convert C:/FS:NTFS" to convert FAT32 to NTFS. R & ampS_V9.5 No longer use intelligent system packaging tools. You can manually choose whether to convert to NTFS after restoration) and so on. After the installation is completed, you can run this command once.
Note: The file name of the automatic answer file must be sysprep.inf, and the directory must be under the directory c:\sysprep.
In fact, we only use third gear, and it doesn't matter if we have a few more gears! ! Because the system will automatically delete this directory and files under it after the first startup, so we don't have to worry!
1. Create the system automatic answer file!
Click the file C:\sysprep\setupmgr.exe,
Click Next. According to different systems, we are XP Professional Edition. Choose the second one! Of course, if you want to be a Windows 2003 system, here is your choice. )
Click next, you must choose automatic installation here, or you will suffer!
Click Next to enter the installation management interface! ! You can see at a glance that these contents are what we need to fill in when installing XP. The advantage of automatic installation is that we input it first, and we don't need to input it when installing! !
Here we only need to enter a few necessary items, and the rest can be directly pressed next!
The product key is of course needed! (You can count one with a digital counter. )
You also need a computer name, otherwise the automatically generated names are usually ugly! (arbitrary)
The administrator password can be left blank (of course, it is best not to, and others will change it when necessary).
Language You must select Simplified Chinese here.
You don't need to enter anything else, and you don't need to choose anything. The next step will be fine.
Finally, come to this screen and click OK!
Click OK, and the automatically installed answer file is created successfully.
(In addition, the file name of this file must be sysprep.inf, and the directory must be in the c:\sysprep directory. )
Special note: Don't put anything else in this directory of C:\ sysprep, because this folder will automatically delete this folder and everything in this folder after the system starts the answer installation for the first time.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++2
The new version removes the installer. BMP and you can customize the background picture yourself. It won't show the picture of the rising sun first and then turn it into its own like 0908. Just changing the settings. Directly under the SYSTEM32 BMP(800x600), it's OK!
System repackaging
At this point, all our preparations have been completed! To repackage the system, you can run the Sysprep.exe direct packaging system in the Sysprep directory, or run the smart packaging tool msprep.exe (highly recommended) and call the Sysprep.exe smart packaging system. After running Sysprep.exe or msprep.exe, follow the prompts to repackage the system. Don't make any changes, just press OK.
Note: It should be noted that if the red pen is checked, click OK, and the following screen will appear! !
Option setting when packaging: * Among the four options in the system packaging screen, the second option "Use minimum installation", that is, the installation item with no remaining drivers, is exactly what we need, so we must choose it. The first item "grace period for not resetting activation" and the third item "not regenerating security identifier" are used by genuine users for activation, but we use the activation-free version, so it doesn't matter whether these two items are selected or not, and the use of the system will not be affected after GHOST cloning. The fourth option "Detect non-plug and play hardware" is not selected (if the compact version is required). * You can choose the shutdown mode according to your needs. It is recommended to select "Exit" to back up the DllCache directory file in the next step. * After setting the options, you can click the "repackage" button, and the system will repackage in about half a minute.
After such a long time of preparation, we can finally repackage the system! Click the repackage button for about half a minute.
3. Back up the DllCache directory file (dll file)
Run DllCacheManager.exe in the current system partition root directory C:\windows(XP)/winnt(2k) folder, and complete the DllCache directory file backup according to the prompt (no need to tick), which can reduce the disk space by about 300M.
Note: Cooperation with S&; R & When S is used together, because DllCacheManager adopts the way of registry runonce, when S &;; R & amps When the IDE is changed to standard or the power mode is changed to Standard PC, runonce will be activated, so it is necessary to package the system first, and then back up the DllCache directory file with DllCacheManager (if you back up first and then package, the backup will be automatically restored at the beginning of packaging).
5. After backing up the DllCache directory file (dll file), the system reduces the disk space occupation by about 300M, so it is better to defragment the disk at this time. (recommended)
After completing the above steps, the system in drive C is already a repackaged clean system. At this point, even if the whole packaging system is completed, you can turn off the computer (be careful not to start the packaging system, if you restart it, the newly completed packaging system will resume installation, and the above work will be in vain).
Six, making Ghost system image file
Start the computer to run Ghost with the boot CD, and select "Local → Partition → To Mirror" in the menu in turn. In the pop-up dialog box, select the first partition (disk C) of the hard disk, and set the storage path and file name of the mirror file, such as "D:\ghost\C_PAN". GHO "(why use this name to facilitate future operation), and then choose the compression method, the final xpGhost.gho file is the Ghost system image file.
note:
* ghost _ v8.0 recommended &; Version 8.2, on the one hand, version 8.0 and above can support NTFS partition, on the other hand, version 8.0 and above can automatically delete the virtual memory page file "pagefile.sys" when making image files, thus reducing the volume of image files.
* If you want to make a universal clone that can install more software, the image file will probably exceed the capacity of the CD-ROM. Ghost volume compression can be used at this time. For example, if you want to set the volume size to 650MB, you can enter the command "Ghost -split=650" to run Ghost, and the subsequent operations are no different from those described above.
* If you want to make a universal clone with a larger compression ratio, the partition that must be backed up at this time is FAT32. Under MC-DOS, you can enter the command "ghost -clone, mode=pdump, src= 1: 1, dst = x: \ XXX. Gho-z {(65438。
Seven, packaging system testing:
Packaged systems must be tested before being burned into a CD! (optional).
1, test on the production machine, restart the computer to observe the test results. If the mother machine fails, it means that the production is definitely a failure. Cry out and repackage at this time!
2. Test the VPC. If it doesn't pass, it means there is something wrong. You'd better do it again.
3, restore the GHO file to other types of machines for testing, at least most of them should pass.
