Jigong is the incarnation of dragon-descending arhat. He always has a worn hat, a worn fan, worn shoes and dirty clothes. He is not bound by precepts and likes wine and meat. Daoji, a Taoist in Lingyin Temple, has been punishing evil and promoting good, treating diseases and saving lives. He is deeply loved by the people and regarded as a "living Buddha" and a holy monk, while those wicked people who do evil for the rich hate and fear him.

Living Buddha Jigong is a costume drama jointly produced by Shanghai Chongyuan Culture and Hangzhou Baicheng Film and Television. It is directed by Lin Tianyi, supervised by Wang Shiwei, and co-starred by Chen Musheng, Yang Xue, Emily, Lin Zicong, Sean, Jungle and Angel.
The play is adapted from Guo Xiaoting's Biography of Jigong and folk stories in Qing Dynasty.
