The contracted BYD new energy power battery production base project is located in Lingang Industrial Park, Bengbu Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan. It is mainly engaged in the manufacturing of core products such as new energy battery cells and modules and related supporting industries, and will focus on building BYD's new energy vehicle power battery strategic base in East China. Among them, the investment of the first phase project is about 3 billion yuan, with an annual output of 10 GWh power battery. Construction is planned to start this year. After the first and second phases of the project are all put into production, the estimated annual output value will exceed10 billion yuan.

Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, said that the newly signed new energy power battery project will be built in accordance with Industry 4.0 standard, which will further fill the technical gap in Bengbu power battery industry and comprehensively promote the development of upstream and downstream industrial chains such as electric vehicles, cloud rails and cloud buses, advanced energy storage and battery materials.

In terms of power battery capacity, according to the data previously released by BYD, BYD's Fudi Power Battery Company has established production bases in Shenzhen, Xi 'an, Qinghai, Chongqing, Changsha and Guiyang. Last year, BYD's battery production capacity was 40 kWh. This year, the battery production capacity that has been put into production and under construction will reach 65Gwh. By 20021and 2022, the total production capacity including "blade batteries" will reach 75GWh and 652 respectively.

Among them, in March 2020, blade batteries began mass production in BYD Chongqing Fudi Battery Factory, and the current production capacity is steadily rising. At present, Fudi Battery Factory located in Bishan District of Chongqing is the only blade battery production base, with a total investment of 654.38+000 billion yuan, and an annual output of 20GWH is planned.
