Build a bracket. The sculptor refers to the "supporting structure" of sculpture with "bracket". It is like the skeleton of a sculpture, supporting the whole sculpture. Not every part of the sculpture needs support. However, the arm or leg will fall off from the main body and there will be a breaking point, so it is necessary to build a bracket. The bracket can be made of single-layer or multi-layer measuring lines, pump pipes, PVC pipes, wood, sticks, plywood nails and other materials. Generally speaking, the order of sculpture making is "spine"-"limbs". This is when sketches come in handy. This is especially true when the sculpture is large. Before the next step, fix the sculpture bracket on the base. Fill in the content In order to distinguish it from sculpture materials, different materials can be selected as the lining. This is especially common when making sculptures with soft pottery. Lining can reduce the cost of materials and reduce the weight of sculpture. Try it. Commonly used materials are: newspaper, tin foil or aluminum foil, coated paper or paint tape, cardboard. Glue the lining to the bracket to form the basic shape of the sculpture. Leave room for the filling of sculpture materials, and don't add too much lining.
Move the center of gravity of sculpture from the general shape to the details. From general modeling (large muscle group) to details (small muscle group), most details to small details are filled with sculpture materials. Increase or decrease the filler as needed, but don't cut too much at once, it will be difficult to add it. Add details. After the body shaping is basically completed, we begin to mix and carve, and finally polish all kinds of small details, such as hair, eyes, contours and muscle curves, fingers and toes. Carefully polish the relevant details of the sculpture until the finished product.
