Ask for a speech on 1000 words about "face"
Friends:

The theme of my speech today is face.

In real life, we often hear some people prostrate themselves and say to those who are very capable, "Wow, you really have face!" " ""Your face is so wide! "We often hear some people feel sorry for themselves:" Alas, we have no face! " "My face is narrow! "On the one hand, it is admiration for those who have face, on the other hand, it is pity for those who have no face, as if this face is really like cloth, which can be measured by size; Really like any commodity, it can be measured by value. So, what is "face"? What do we mean by face here?

Face, explained in modern Chinese dictionaries, is: the surface of an object; People's dignity and respect. In fact, it is a figurative word in Chinese, especially the spoken language commonly used by us northerners. Its real meaning refers to a person's weight in other people's minds. To put it bluntly, it is vanity, and it can also be said that it is the "dignity" or "self-esteem" of some people. I can say for sure that few people don't love face, unless they are fools or mentally retarded. Because living in the world, everyone pays attention to their own image, everyone wants to have a bright face, everyone wants to get dignity, everyone wants to be recognized by others, and everyone wants to have honor. For example, I cherish my face: when I have made achievements in my studies, won praises from others, or done something that everyone admires and praises, I always feel complacent and proud; When I fail in my study, am criticized by others, or do something that disappoints or even annoys everyone, I often feel inferior, hold my head up and feel humiliated. This is a sign of saving face. Therefore, saving face is human nature and understandable. It reflects people's concern for themselves. It is with this concern that people can constantly absorb the strengths of others, make up for their own shortcomings, and make great progress.

However, to save face, we should love moderately. If you love too much, you will go to extremes, lose yourself and harm others and yourself. There is a college student who often invites his classmates and friends to dinner because of his good "face". Just praise him for his classmates and friends. Unfortunately, his family was not very rich, and finally went to the abyss of crime. This is not a story, but a living example in reality, a typical case that brings serious losses to yourself and others because of saving face. If the student doesn't care too much about face, doesn't try so hard to show off, but refuses his friends frankly and directly, there will be no later things.

Jia Pingwa, a famous writer, described a hero named Xiao Peifeng in his novel Greed. Because he cared too much about face, he hurt his friend Geng Yang and himself. In life, there are countless negative effects brought by too much face-saving: some are arrogant, deceitful and aggressive, and finally make themselves embarrassed; Some love face, stress spirit, spend money like water, treat guests at will, and finally get themselves into debt and exile; Others feel that they are nothing like others because they love face and seek vanity, and make themselves depressed and unhappy all day; What's more, some people lose everything because of saving face. Having said that, we can't help asking: Since so many people in the world like and care about face, what is the value of face? A writer once said, "Face is a double-edged sword. If you can't get it, you can harm others and yourself. " Many examples in life have not fulfilled this sentence? It's really "people live a face, trees live a skin." This sentence means to tell people that people should cherish their faces when they are alive. However, respect for face should be reasonable and based on ability and strength. If the face we want to win matches our ability, we can gain self-esteem; On the contrary, it will be ridiculed.

Here, I want to tell you sincerely that face is different from self-esteem, face is for others to see, and the focus is on others' views; Self-esteem is for yourself, and the focus is on your own pursuit. People who pursue face too much will be self-defeating and lose face. Just think: What will the practice of "saving face and suffering" bring to us and is it worth pursuing? How much can a face that you deliberately pursue to satisfy your vanity be worth? We can only say: such a face is worthless! Only those who have a successful career, win glory for the country and seek happiness for the people in the process of realizing their self-worth, are truly people with face, but such face is worth millions and priceless! Let's all say no loudly to the so-called face! Let's all stay away from that hypocritical and worthless face! Let's all be sincere, frank and true people.
