What material is ABS?
ABS is the acronym of acrylic butadiene styrene, which means that acrylonitrile butadiene styrene * * * polymer is a thermoplastic polymer structural material with high strength, good toughness and easy processing and molding, also known as ABS resin.

With the adjustment of the proportion of the three components, the physical properties of the resin will change to some extent:

1, 3- butadiene provides low-temperature ductility and impact resistance for ABS resin, but too much butadiene will reduce the hardness, luster and fluidity of the resin;

Acrylonitrile provides ABS resin with hardness, heat resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance and salt resistance.

Styrene provides ABS resin with hardness, processing fluidity and product surface smoothness.

Extended data

1, general performance

ABS engineering plastics are opaque opalescent particles, and their products can be colored with high gloss. The relative density of ABS is about 1.05, and its water absorption is low. ABS has good adhesion to other materials and is easy to print, coat and electroplate on the surface. The oxygen index of ABS is 18~20. ABS is a flammable polymer with yellow flame, black smoke and special cinnamon smell.

2. Mechanical properties

ABS has excellent mechanical properties and excellent impact strength, and can be used at extremely low temperature; ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability and oil resistance, and can be used for bearings under medium load and rotating speed. The creep resistance of ABS is greater than that of PSF and PC, but less than that of PA and POM. The bending strength and compressive strength of ABS are poor in plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS are greatly influenced by temperature.

3. Thermal characteristics

The thermal deformation temperature of ABS is 93~ 1 18℃, and the product can be increased by about 10℃ after annealing. ABS still shows a little toughness at -40℃ and can be used in the temperature range of -40~ 100℃.
