Briefly introduce:

Anoplophora longicorn is an herbivorous insect, which will harm woody plants. Most of them are pine, cypress, willow, elm, walnut, orange, apple, peach and tea, some are cotton, wheat, corn, sorghum, sugarcane and hemp, and a few are wood, buildings, houses and furniture. It is the main pest of forestry production, crop cultivation and building wood.

There are about 40,000 species of Coleoptera Cerambycidae beetles, and their English common names come from the extremely long antennae of most species. It is distributed all over the world, but it is the most in the tropics. The length is 0.4 ~ 18 cm, but if the antenna is included, the length can be increased by 2 ~ 3 times.

Many adults (such as 〔Clytus arietes〕 in Europe) collect pollen, which is yellow, black and orange, and looks like a wasp. Some tropical ants look like ants; The African beetle (Pterognatha gigas) is like a piece of moss or lichen, with several lines (protruding tentacles).

Color and shape

Anoplophora longicorn larvae are yellowish or white, and the front end of the body expands into a circle, which looks like a head. Therefore, it is commonly known as the round-headed wood borer, which has a strong upper jaw and can live in trees for more than two years, destroying wood. Before pupating, drill a hole outward to pupate in the tree, and the newly emerged adults come out through this hole. Three feet, two pairs of wings. Because of this habit of drilling wood, longicorn beetles do great harm to pulp trees, landscape trees, fruit trees and woody ornamental plants.
