To develop domestic CAD, we must unite, otherwise it is difficult for everyone to survive. There are three domestic companies that are relatively strong in making 2D CAD platforms: CAXA, Chen Hao and Zhongwang. They compete directly with Autodesk, but their annual sales add up to only a few tenths of Autodesk's. Therefore, they all understand that it is impossible to win the world, and they are actively seeking cooperation with domestic secondary developers to broaden the market by expanding industry applications. However, the road of cooperation in these years has not been smooth, and there are not many successful cases.
CAXA has long-term cooperation with some upstream and downstream manufacturers such as IRONCAD, Shaanxi Jinye, CATIA, etc. Through cooperation and independent development, a relatively complete 2D/3D CAD/CAM/CAPP PDM/PLM manufacturing solution has been formed. CAXA also wants to enter other industries through cooperation with other secondary developers in recent years, but its development interface is relatively closed and incompatible with AutoCAD, which brings great obstacles to cooperation. On July 17, 2009, CAXA, Guanglianda and Tianzheng established a consortium. The ultimate goal of the consortium is to launch? BLM overall solution. Guanglianda is a listed company, the leader of construction budget software, and Tianzheng is also the leader in the field of construction software. However, the combination of the three feels a bit like a castle in the air, and the possibility of customer resources is very small, so it is difficult to jointly build products. Looking back at this matter two years later, people feel that at the beginning, it was just that these bosses had a good relationship. Everyone's brain is hot and they are hyping each other. The closedness of CAXA products limits the possibility of cooperation with more secondary developers, and it is difficult to expand its own market through cooperation in the short term.
Chen Hao and Zhongwang are not only highly similar to AutoCAD in operating habits, but also highly compatible with AutoCAD in development interface, which gives them the basis for cooperation with secondary development. They have been trying for years, but there are not many successful examples.
In the early days, Chen Hao didn't have his own structural drawing software, and talked about cooperation with the explorer, but the explorer didn't accept it. Later, he had to develop a structural drawing software by himself. In 2006, Chen Hao successfully signed contracts with design institutes such as Taiyuan Institute and Beijing Urban Construction Institute. These design institutes are also users of Explorer, and Explorer actively transplanted them to Chen Hao CAD. It can be seen that interest is the main driving force of cooperation, but this kind of cooperation belongs to informal cooperation, and the two sides have not exaggerated it too much. In the same year, Chen Hao cooperated with Judas and Tongying in Taiwan Province. These two companies transplanted their professional software to Chen Hao CAD, and Chen Hao CAD gave the platform OEM to these two Taiwan-funded enterprises. These two companies mainly sell to Taiwan-funded enterprises, and the number of Chen Hao CAD platforms sold each year is not large. At this stage, Chen Hao pays more attention to the development of platform and the enrichment of professional software. In addition to transplanting his own pipeline power system based on ACAD, he also developed architectural, structural and mechanical software.
Zhongwang established a domestic CAD alliance in 2008, which was really vigorous at first, and contacted several well-known secondary developers in China: Bochao, Hongye, Swire, Explorer and Trina. In 2009, the secondary development software of Zhongwang platform was launched one after another, but it was limited to the ARX interface that was launched in that year: DRX was not very good. These products must either be slimmed down, or their stability and performance are obviously reduced. Some even just sell dog meat, such as the so-called Tianhe machinery made for Zhongwang, but the previous machinery was renamed, and Tianhe did not transplant its products to Zhongwang CAD. By 20 10, the domestic CAD alliance was quiet. Zhongwang launched ZDN (Zhongwang CAD Developer Network). In addition to the previous products, some manufacturers have joined in one after another. From the website of ChinaNet, there are now more than a dozen, including PDM and collaborative design systems. These softwares have only a simple data interface with CAD. Zhongwang's own professional software has been updated to version 20 10, but several softwares such as Hongye and Svell downloaded from Zhongwang's website can be installed to version 20 1 1. Only Trina chose to cooperate with BricsCAD, completely breaking away from the alliance that looks like China. With the current development strength of Zhongwang, we should put more energy into the transformation of 3D CAD. Just use the remaining energy to maintain the 2D CAD platform. It is also a strategy to gradually give up their own professional software, which can make secondary developers more assured to cooperate with China Net. However, Zhongwang's DRX development interface is obviously not very good. After Chen Hao launched GRX, Zhongwang quickly launched a new ZRX. The original close domestic CAD alliance has gradually loosened, and there is no longer any joint publicity activities, because Zhongwang, as the organizer, has reduced its investment in this area and can't get much eyeball effect from this publicity. However, Zhongwang's attempt in this respect is still worth learning and has achieved certain results. Of course, the value of marketing is greater.
After Zhongwang CAD established the domestic CAD alliance, Chen Hao also launched a development tool similar to ARX: GRX, which actively promoted cooperation with secondary developers, but did not get much response. The cooperation with Tsinghua TUS, Chengchuang Electric and Kobayashi Electric only improved the compatibility of GRX, but did not promote the subsequent publicity and sales. I haven't done much in these two years. Only on 20 10, we discussed cooperation with Yanxiu Toolbox and launched Yanxiu Toolbox based on Chen Hao CAD platform.
The circle of domestic CAD is not large. It can be said that you have me and I have you. This person was in Bochao last year, in Tianzheng this year and possibly in Chen Hao next year. Not only technicians and salespeople jump around, but also developers jump around. A few years ago, people paid attention to Zhang Jingan's job-hopping from Tianzheng to Taikoo, and the two companies fought two lawsuits over job-hopping and copyright. What attracted people's attention two years ago was that Wen Qiusheng traveled from Tianhe to Exeter, and the two families also played for a long time.
Domestic CAD is originally a company, but it is not easy to cooperate. The most critical issue is two words: benefit. Only by achieving a win-win situation can such cooperation be negotiated and persisted for a long time. For platform developers such as Chen Hao and Zhongwang, they want to cooperate with secondary developers to enter new industries, and their willingness to cooperate with secondary developers is very strong. But for secondary developers, transplantation must be invested. What they are most concerned about is how much they can sell after transplantation. No one will do something unproductive after investing. Due to Taiyuan Institute and Beijing Urban Construction, explorers took the initiative to transplant structural software to Chen Hao CAD. At the beginning, it was also because of the strong demand of Shanxi Provincial Academy that the domestic CAD alliance was promoted. However, in the later stage, due to the large investment and small output of transplantation, the secondary developers have their own abacus, which is gradually inseparable.
At first, Swire cooperated with Zhongwang to unite Zhongwang to compete with Tianzheng, but after winning the copyright lawsuit, it simply made a fuss about copyright instead of tying with Zhongwang. Although the lawsuit was won, it did not shake Tianzheng's position. Swire only provides free building software, but Swire only has one building software, and the others are all building engineering calculation software. It seems that the move to build software has not had much impact on Tianzheng. Taikoo feels a bit like a larger foe, which makes people feel that these behaviors seem to stem from personal grievances of Zhang Jingan and Tian Zheng, and the business objectives are unclear, so Taikoo has never had a good result in making software.
Tianhe, as one of the few ACAD secondary developers left by the manufacturing industry, has actually transferred its main business to PDM, but its PCCAD piracy still has a certain market share, so it has become the object of contention between Chen Hao and Zhongwang. Chen Hao and Tianhe did not discuss it well, but later developed it by themselves. Its functions are basically the same as Tianhe Machinery, and it is also compatible with Tianhe's new entity. On the surface, Trina cooperated with Zhongwang to launch a version of Trina for Zhongwang, but only Zhongwang Machinery borrowed the name of Trina, which was later dropped. 20 10 Trina chose BricsCAD, a foreign product of the original ITC member.
Think about how many secondary developers of AutoCAD emerged in China in 1990s. It is these secondary developers who introduced AutoCAD to China and made users get used to AutoCAD gradually. However, after AutoCAD bought Genius from Germany, it introduced Mechanical, so a large number of 2D mechanical CAD developers disappeared, some became AutoCAD dealers, and some turned to PDM. Autodesk hasn't released the professional software of survey and design which is very suitable for China's national conditions, so Tianzheng, Hongye, Bochao and Explorer seem to be living well. After acquiring REVIT in recent years, Autodesk has also strengthened the AEC industry and promoted its BIM solution in China. After several years of free delivery, some design institutes began to try Revit. Domestic CAD secondary developers not only rely on AUTOCAD, but also compete with Autodesk. Obviously, they are dancing with wolves, holding a group with domestic CAD platform developers, and maybe they can hold up a sky together.
