Chasing Dreams: How long has Teacher Xiao Wei been practicing yoga?
Ji: Eight years. At present, I mainly do hatha, air instructor training, and private yoga physiotherapist. I have been eager to go to India for further study, but I have not been able to do so for various reasons. Crowdfunding is also to push yourself forward.
Chasing dreams: how do you want to come to Dreamore for crowdfunding? Have you delivered projects before?
Ji: Never. It is also a coincidence that when I got up that day, I made a wish for myself. If I have a good idea today, I will do it. Then I saw an article on entrepreneurship published by Du, the founder of Dreamore, in Zhihu. I downloaded the App out of curiosity, so I got this project.
Pursuing dreams: There was a yoga master named Guita S. Iyengar. She was unfortunately suffering from nephritis at the age of 10, and was threatened with death because of ineffective treatment. Under the guidance of her father Iyengar, she embarked on the path of yoga and became one of the few female yoga masters in the world. Nowadays, many girls come into contact with yoga mostly to love beauty, lose weight or relieve stress. Why did you start practicing yoga in the first place?
Ji: Yoga originated from a yoga book brought back by my high school classmates. I began to practice formally when I was in college. I majored in marketing in college, and my senior year is approaching graduation. Very confused, I don't know what to do after graduation. After thinking about it for a long time, I took the living expenses that my mother gave me for a whole semester and went to yoga. At that time, I had no confidence to be a yoga teacher. I feel that I am not beautiful enough and my Mandarin is not good. At that time, I thought yoga could only be practiced by beautiful women. It's funny to think about it now.
Dream Pursuit: Are you a yoga teacher who works full-time directly after signing up for yoga?
Ji: Nanjing Asian Yoga Association (now a branch), where I study yoga, found an Indian foreign teacher. Because I can speak English and yoga, I became a translator and teaching assistant. During my three months as a teaching assistant, I learned more and had the opportunity to see how different teachers in Jiangsu teach. Accumulate before you actually start class.
Chasing dreams: It is said that yoga changes not only a person's external body shape, but also your temperament and mentality. Is it true?/You don't say.
Ji: I was humble before practicing yoga. Practicing yoga made me settle down, with a calm temperament, a better attitude and more confidence.
I even felt inferior before, thinking that I was ugly and my Mandarin was poor. But after yoga, my students told my teacher that you have a unique temperament. Listen, your voice makes me feel calm. In fact, these changes are the fluency of practicing yoga, which makes people easy to get close to and like. As a yoga teacher, my heart has changed from a girl who is at a loss after graduating from college to a person who insists on herself and lives bravely, becoming tough and calm.
Therefore, yoga is not only a physical exercise, but also a mental exercise. In order to let people know this better, I set up a meditation course online, which received great response.
Chasing Dreams: Does Xiao Wei have any good suggestions for beginners or people who are going to practice yoga?
Ji: 1, practice, and practice regularly; 2. Find a good teacher. And I especially recommend you to practice Tai Chi yoga. Tai Chi Yoga was founded by my teachers, Mr. Zhou and Mr. Zhou. They combine Tai Chi with yoga. The knowledge of Taijiquan and the knowledge of harmony between yin and yang are integrated into Taoist yoga. The biggest difference between Tai Chi and other yoga is that it perfectly combines Tai Chi and yoga, two ancient great eastern health-keeping exercises, bringing practitioners a double "physical and mental relaxation" experience, inheriting and carrying forward the traditional Tai Chi culture in China, and at the same time continuing the essence of Indian yoga and the perfect combination of exercise mode and yoga.
Finally, Ji said a word, which was very good.
She said that if you keep practicing, everything will come naturally.
Why do you say that yoga brings people not only physical changes, because it also changes your mentality. In yoga, you will learn to accept yourself, accept the rigidity of your body, accept what others can do but you can't, accept the imperfection of your body, accept it, and you will no longer be impatient and have the heart to keep up with the competition. This is your rhythm, your wealth, and others will never take it away. Keep practicing, and everything will come naturally and apply to everything.
