1988, a long time ago. I am 1 1 year old. What am I doing? Who knows, but one thing is certain. I shouldn't have started wandering in the video room. Andy Lau may have known it at that time, but it is absolutely impossible to know Wong Kar-wai.

But in this year, Wong Kar-wai finished his directorial debut-Tears Flowing. That the Year of the Loong, that 27-year-old Andy Lau, that 27-year-old Jacky Cheung, that 24-year-old Maggie Cheung, that 3 1 year-old Wan Ziliang, * * * all gathered under a big brother named Wong Kar-wai and started a Jianghu story. At that time, Andy Lau was like a real idol, invincible in youth.

Most importantly, Wong Kar-wai was wearing a pair of ordinary black-rimmed glasses instead of sunglasses. I also caught a glimpse of this in the trailer of the DVD appendix.

At first glance, this movie doesn't look like a Wong Kar-wai movie with a strong personal style, but it may be considered as an ordinary Jianghu gangster movie, with vendetta, eldest brother and younger brother, women around eldest brother, loyal love, which seems to be no different from those ordinary Jianghu hero movies in the 1980s.

Otherwise, in fact, the protagonists are marginal people, and their strong sense of fate has already taken on the tone of Wong Kar-wai's later films. This film is not so much a propaganda of loyalty to the rivers and lakes as an expression of disgust and helplessness to the rivers and lakes, which is quite different from ordinary rivers and lakes films.

Of course, in the image processing of Wang Dao's fame, the style is not particularly obvious, but there are still several examples and slow mirrors that reflect a personal style that he began to pursue in the future.

The voiceover monologues of the characters in the film don't appear at all, which is probably the least Wong Kar-wai-like place in the film.
