In yoga, do you inhale or exhale?
Both will do.

There are many ways of breathing in yoga. According to the breathing position, the commonly used breathing methods are abdominal breathing, chest breathing and complete breathing, which mainly involve the upper, middle and lower parts of the lung.

1, abdominal breathing. The basic movements are: put your fingers in a triangle, put your hands on your abdomen, inhale slowly through your nostrils, relax your abdomen, and press the air to the bottom of your abdomen. Then slowly contract the abdominal muscles and exhale. Exhale is slower than inhale. It breathes at the bottom of the lungs.

2, chest breathing. The basic movements are: shut up, inhale naturally, and exhale evenly with short and powerful nostrils. Exhale frequency is about once per second. Breathing mainly occurs in the upper and middle parts of the lungs.

3. Breathe completely. The basic action is: slowly inhale into the abdomen until you feel full, slowly lift your breath to your chest, and generally lift your shoulders while inhaling. Finally, relax your shoulders, shrink your chest and exhale. The upper, middle and lower parts of the lung are all involved in breathing.

Matters needing attention in yoga practice:

There are many kinds of yoga, such as hatha yoga, strength yoga and high temperature yoga. For yoga practitioners, they should choose the type of practice according to their own needs and expectations.

Beginners are advised to take several different yoga classes before choosing the yoga that suits them. If you want to enhance muscle strength and achieve greater exercise intensity, you should choose strength yoga instead of hatha yoga. If there is no clear goal, it is suggested that beginners can spend some time before making a choice.
