Wu Nan, a critic, said: "Wang Xiufang's dance works are thicker than novels, stronger than oil paintings and more sensational than traditional operas! I have never appreciated the charm of dancing. I didn't win by difficult skills or exquisite costumes, but told the whole story about the rich and fresh loess charm and fresh life breath, which aroused the most primitive aesthetic feeling and the most vivid singing and yearning of modern audiences. " People call Wang Xiufang "the dancing spirit who walked out of Shijiazhuang". She was born in Xiumen, Shijiazhuang on 1942. When she was in primary school, the dance "Dove of Peace" rehearsed by her classmate Shi Zhuo was often used as a program to entertain foreign guests. After graduating from primary school, she was admitted to Shi Jun Art Troupe. Two years later, the art troupe was dissolved and assigned to Shanxi Song and Dance Theatre to become a professional dancer. She played the leading role in many dances, such as Lotus Lantern, White-haired Girl, Red Female Soldier, Children of the Grassland, and created a distinct artistic image.
Wang Xiufang's participation in the creation of The Yellow River Trilogy is regarded as a milestone in the history of China dance. Having said that, she always said slowly: "The kindness and simplicity of the villagers are like a seed, which is deeply buried in my heart. As time goes by, it slowly takes root and becomes an inexhaustible precious material for dance creation. "
In 1960s, Wang Xiufang went to the countryside to experience life, which changed her artistic life. The landlord, the aunt, is very distressed by her. She took out what little white flour she had at home and steamed the steamed bread for her, but she chewed it herself. Wang Xiufang refused to eat. He picked up a corn steamed bread, chewed it and said, "I just love corn steamed bread." Seeing her sweet food, my uncle and aunt believed it.
Soon after she returned to Taiyuan, she received a heavy package. She opened it and found some steamed buns, which were sent by her uncle and aunt. Her eyes were wet at that time. Two years later, she received another package from her son. Those are some pairs of embroidered insoles. It turned out that all the aunts and uncles died one after another. Before she died, the aunt asked her son to give the insole to "Xiufangni who taught dancing". This time, Wang Xiufang's eyes filled with tears, and she was moved by this deep memory.
She often says to her students, "When you find the sea of life, you should jump in and swim to your heart's content. So is dancing. Jin culture is a rich mine that can never be mined! "
