The difference between cement and concrete:
1, different definitions
Cement: powder hydraulic inorganic cementing material. Mud can be hardened in air or water after being mixed with water, and can firmly bond sand, stone and other materials together. The mixture of early lime and pozzolan is very similar to modern lime-pozzolan cement. After hardening, the concrete made of crushed stone not only has high strength, but also can resist the erosion of fresh water or salt water.
Concrete: Concrete is one of the most important civil engineering materials. It is a kind of artificial stone which is made of cementing material, granular aggregate (also called aggregate), water, additives and additives added when necessary, mixed evenly, compacted, cured and hardened in a certain proportion.
2. Different uses
Cement: As an important cementing material, it is widely used in civil construction, water conservancy, national defense and other projects.
Concrete: structural concrete, thermal insulation concrete, decorative concrete, waterproof concrete, refractory concrete, hydraulic concrete, marine concrete, road concrete, radiation-proof concrete, etc.
3. Different characteristics
Cement: Cement hardened by moisture will reduce or even lose its original strength. Therefore, it is stipulated in the specification that cement that has been out of the factory for more than 3 months should be re-tested and used according to the test results. Cement caked or hardened by moisture must be screened before use. The screened aggregates are generally used for masonry mortar or plastering mortar in secondary projects after rubbing or grinding. For cement blocks that can be pulverized by one touch or one pinch, the strength grade can be appropriately reduced.
Concrete: Concrete has the characteristics of abundant raw materials, low price and simple production technology, so its consumption is increasing. At the same time, concrete also has the characteristics of high compressive strength, good durability and wide range of strength grades.
