Tonghua is a prefecture-level city under Jilin Province. It is located in the southeast of Jilin, bordering Baishan in the east, Benxi, Fushun and Dandong in the west, facing Cijiang Road across the Yalu River in the south and Liaoyuan and Jilin City in the north. More than two-thirds of them are mountainous areas, belonging to the Changbai Mountain system and the humid climate zone in the middle temperate zone.
Tonghua has a long history and profound cultural heritage. It is the birthplace of Koguryo culture and Shaman culture. In 425 years since Koguryo established its capital in Ji 'an, Koguryo's Imperial City, Imperial Tomb and Noble Tomb are the only world cultural heritage successfully declared independently in Northeast China.
