Wendeng Sports School was founded in 1958. Originally called Wendeng County Amateur Sports School. /kloc-0 changed its name to competitive sports school in June, 1996. Add the brand of sports middle school, incorporate it into the nine-year compulsory education sequence, and enjoy the treatment of municipal key middle schools. It is the only sports school in Wendeng District that focuses on training, teaching and accommodation.

From June 5, 2008 to February 2009, the school moved to the current site of the sports park in Xincheng District. The new campus has an investment of more than 20 million yuan and a construction area of 10700 square meters, which can accommodate more than 500 students for study, accommodation and training. The school has five grades in primary school, one to four grades in junior high school, one to three grades in senior high school, and two classes in technical secondary school.
