Scenery, sports, no flash, short film, these four modes can not use flash.

In P/AV/TV/M mode, you can press the button to pop up the flash. In other modes, the camera will automatically pop up the flash as needed.

Confirm the menu option, the flash must be set to enabled in the flash control.
