The first method is to use Apple Support to check the battery health of the iPad. The simplest and most official way to check the battery health of iPad is to ask Apple's technical support for help. They will help you check two indicators of battery health within 10 minutes: "maximum capacity percentage" and "charging cycles".
1. Open the App Store of iPad, search for "Apple Support" and download the "Apple Support" application.
2. Open the Apple Support application, select my device iPad, click the device performance, select the battery performance, and contact the support staff to choose to chat. (The Chat button usually only appears during daytime working hours.)
Then a friendly technical support lady will talk to you. You can ask "I want to check the health of the battery". It will trouble you to open Settings > Privacy > Analysis and Improvement, and tap "Start using Apple Support for diagnosis" to run the iPad remote diagnosis program. This may take a while, and then click Exit Diagnostics to return to the main screen.
4. After the diagnosis, Miss Sister will tell you the diagnosis result, including two data, namely "maximum capacity percentage" and "number of charging cycles" of the battery.
5. Does it sound convenient? Try it quickly! Attached is my chat record with the technical support lady for your reference:
The second method is to use iPad analysis to check the battery health of iPad. Although there is no "battery health" option in the battery settings of the iPad, we can still get some battery health information through the analysis log of the iPad itself. If you haven't opened Settings > Privacy > Analysis and Improvement > * * * To enjoy iPad analysis, you need to open it first, and then try this method in about a day.
Step 1 Generate and copy the analysis log
Open iPad Settings and select Privacy.
Draw to the bottom of the page, click "Analysis and Improvement" and click "Analyze Data".
3. Then you will see a pile of log files, scroll down the log list and find the file named "log-aggregated". (If you don't find it, you may not have opened "* * * Enjoy iPad Analysis" before, so you need to open it first and come back some day. )
4. Click to open the latest log aggregation log file.
5. Double-click the log file itself, drag the text selection box, select all the text contents, and click Copy (some students may find it difficult or complicated to copy, so it is suggested to skip to Method 3).
Step 2 Paste the copied log file into the memo.
Open the memo application on iPad. If you can't find it, you can focus on searching.
Create a new memo, then hold down the text box and click Paste to "paste" the contents of the previously copied log file.
The third step is to find out the number of battery cycles, maximum battery capacity and battery design capacity.
Click the button in the upper right corner of "...".
Select Find in Memo.
Then enter "battery.cycle_count" in the search box and click "Search".
At this time, the memo will find the position of the text "battery.cycle_count" and highlight it. At the bottom of this line, you can see a number, which is the number of charging cycles of the battery. For example, in the picture above, my iPad battery cycle times show 76 times.
In addition, two other fields can be found in the following lines of the text "battery.cycle_count".
"com.apple.power.design _ capcacity" = battery design capacity.
"com.apple.power.raw _ max _ capcacity" = maximum battery capacity.
Using the calculation formula, you can get the current battery health:
Maximum capacity percentage = maximum battery capacity/battery design capacity
The third method is to use coconutBattery to check the battery health (macOS) of iPad. If you use an iPad and a Mac computer at the same time, you can use the well-known old battery information checking software "coconutBattery". This is a Mac OS software, which can view the battery information of a Mac notebook or an iOS/iPadOS device.
Download and install coconutBattery on Mac computer.
Open coconutBattery and connect the iPad to the Mac through the data cable. If it is the first time to connect, you need to unlock it on the iPad, and select "Trust this device".
3. Click on the "iOS device" page at the top to view the battery details of the iPad.
"Fully charged capacity" = maximum battery capacity.
"design capacity" = battery design capacity
"Cycle Count" = Number of charging cycles.
