Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil. According to Singapore's Constitution, Malay is the official language, but English is the most commonly used common language.
Singapore is located at the southern tip of the half island of Malaya, between Malaysia and Indonesia, about 84 miles (135 km) north of the equator. It consists of 270 square miles (7 10 square kilometers) of Singapore Island and about 63 satellite islands and islets, which can be seen in the top center of the picture.
Nearly two-thirds of the islands in Singapore are less than 50 feet (15m) above sea level. Tema Mountain, the highest peak, is only 538 feet (165 meters) above sea level. Changi Airport is one of the largest transportation hubs in Asia and the most acclaimed airport in the world, which can be seen at the eastern end of the island.
The northern part of Singapore Island is separated from the Malaysian Peninsula by the Johor Strait, which is a narrow strait through which roads and train causeways pass, while the southern end faces the Singapore Strait, to which Riau Islands (a part of Indonesia) extend.
Singapore is the largest port in Southeast Asia and one of the busiest ports in the world, connecting more than 600 ports in 123 countries. Its development and prosperity are attributed to its location at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, which dominates the Malacca Strait connecting the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea.
The image sent back by Copernicus Sentinel 1 contains satellite data spliced from three independent radar scans to detect the changes between acquisitions. The sea surface reflects the radar signal from the satellite, which makes the water appear very dark in the image and contrasts with the metal objects. In this case, ships and ships are very bright in the dark water and become bright spots.
In this figure, the ships on February 28th, 202 1, 12 are shown in red, the ships on June 9th, 2022 are shown in green, and the ships on June 30th, 2022 are shown in blue. The color of the ocean is caused by the changing surface water flow and sediments in the river delta, while the main cities and towns are white because of the strong reflection of radar signals.
The advantage of radar as a remote sensing tool is that it can image the earth's surface through rain clouds no matter day or night. This is particularly useful for monitoring areas prone to long-term darkness, such as the Arctic, or providing images for emergency response under extreme weather conditions.
