Hans J. Wegner sat in his own wishbone chair. He once said, "A chair is complete when someone sits on it."
As a Danish designer, Wegner's works are different from the Nordic design we know. He injected a more natural softness into the Nordic design marked as minimalism. As can be seen from the Y chair, the master has also done more research and thinking on Japanese design, Chinese classical furniture design and other designs outside Northern Europe, which makes his taste in details amazed everyone again and again. Wegener, who was born as a carpenter, abided by the craftsman spirit all his life and completed his major with a pragmatic attitude. In the design process of Y chair, he repeatedly evaluated various actual needs, set up some strict specifications, and gave merciless supervision and guidance in the process of construction and molding. Only after such serious and arduous polishing, the Y chair is the Y chair, and the Y-shaped chair back tempered by multiple processes is meaningful.
